I do not know if the release date for Hound and Adventures has been changed or not, but many Borders stores are now stocking these two titles. I picked up both discs early last week in Cincinnati. The prints are not quite as stellar as the Universal titles, but they are very exceptional given their age. The commentary on Hounds is superior to Adventures, but both are well worth a listen. Each disc includes three trailers that have not been restored. These two titles also contain more elaborate liner notes than the other individual releases. The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes liner notes address a couple of minor plot holes and script changes, while The Hound of the Baskerville notes briefly sketch the German and British adaptations of the tale preceding the Fox release.
I had not seen these two titles before buying them and I was shocked by the production values of the two Fox Holmes adventures as compared to the twelve Universal releases. According to the commentator on Hounds, Richard Greene, the top-billed actor on the film, once found himself lost on the Dartmoor set.

Thanks for the update, starecase. Wow, that's over a whole month early from the last street date that I had heard (4/27). I'll have to check my local Borders. I'm glad they're carrying these, since they did not carry the earlier Vol. 1-3 releases. What were they priced at?

Hounds and Adventures were priced at $14.99 each, but I used a 10% off coupon. The coupon can be found in the bargains forum. It is good through the 21st. Interestingly, I did not start seeing the Wave 3 titles that were released in January at the four different Borders I frequent until last week.

I couldn't find them at my local Borders, so this may just be that store. DVD Empire is still showing 27 April as the release date, as is the MPI website.

I've read on various websites that many Borders have these out. If you don't see them it could be that they were sold already. One posted that he asked a store manager about it and the manager said he was told by corporate to put them out in late February!

I suppose this is preferable to Best Buy thinking some DVD's come out a month later than their release date.
