The whole lot are just about to be released for the first time over here (UK). Presuming they are done properly, you lot may get a re-issue later.

Actually, "A Shot in the Dark" IS anamorphic, as is (I think) "The Revenge of the Pink Panther". The other MGM releases are not anamorphic.

Various sites list REVENGE OF THE PINK PANTHER as being in WIDESCREEN but NOT 16x9 enhanced.

Thanks for the reply, bardevious. I read the Amazon review pertaining to the picture quality of REVENGE OF THE PINK PANTHER and it appears problematic. Since R2 is getting remastered editions shortly, I'll hold off and see just what happens in the near future for R1. Hell, I've waited this long for these films so I'll wait just awhile longer.

I would not recommend using Amazon for this kind of information. They are notoriously inconsistent. I went to DVD-Basen and searched for reviews and found out that SHOT and REVENGE are anamorphic, the others are not.

My recommendation when you're curious about whther or not a disc is anamorphic, OAR or decent quality is to go to DVD-Basen and check out all the reviews. You'll do a lot better than going to places like Amazon.

MGM is working on Special Eitions for the 2004 4oth anniversary for some of the Pink Panther films. Hopefully the cartoons also.
