Bad Boys....Special Edition or Superbit?
I saw both of these used at my local video store her in Los Angeles. Both were being offered for the same price, which was $9.99(previously viewed.....mind you). I wanted to ask you guys, are the special features on the Bad Boys disc worth getting.....or is the Superbit the way to go with this one? I thought this was an o.k. movie.....but I for $10 I'll get it, I just need advice on which is the better one? Is the picture and sound that much better on the Superbit? Any help would be much appreciated

IMHO the Special Edition is the way to go.
There are some really cool extras like Mark Mancina's isolated score (love that main title music!) and a pretty decent commentary track from Michael Bay. There's also a great half-hour featurette dealing with the pyrotechnics that was quite interesting and informative.
Anyway, based on the reviews I've read, the Superbit version is almost indistinguishable from the Special Edition picture-quality-wise.

Yeah Bay holds well during the commentary for the MOST part.. being a solo track he does talk a lot and what he says is very interesting. There are a couple of deda spots, that's about it.

If you have the setup I vote Superbit. This was the first movie I watched on my new progressive scan dvd player (on a 57" HDTV, DTS surround). Wow. You can see the pores on Will Smith's face it is so clear. The explosions, another Wow!
Buy both versions and put your own 2 disc set together, so you can have both the features and picture/sound quality. $20 for both isn't bad at all, considering it is hard to find SB titles under $20.

Go for the special edition. There is no difference as far as the PQ goes on both releases. You get a pretty good documentary and commentary track on the SE.
