When is THE FLASH season sets coming?

With all this talk about Batman, Superman, the Tick, and so on and so forth.. when is the Flash live-action TV show coming on DVD?

This live-action super hero was one of the best ever made for TV and I can't remember any other show just as good as this one.

Anyways, does anyone have a tentative release date on this?

It appears the company responsible for putting this out doesn't appear to be moving -------------- FAST enough! Please I beg.. put some SPEED into it!

Sounds interesting. I must have missed this show when it was on.

When was it on TV?

It was definitely a lot of fun. Mark Hamill showed up as the Trickster. I'd definitely pick it up.

From HTF's Live Chat with Warner Bros. on April 22:
todds: Thanks for coming. Is their any chance that the Flash tv show might be released on dvd?

Warner: No plans on FLASH TV series at this time.

I thought the show was OK, but that costume... Jesus. The Flash is supposed to be lean and mean, like a long-distance runner or sprinter, not some overbuffed musclebound goon in a rubber sculpted outfit ala the Batman movies.

Still, I'd buy it for a dollar.

It was a great show and I'd gladly pick it up if they ever changed their minds about getting it to DVD.

no doubt, that was a good show. With all the utter crap that is being put on dvd these days... the studio could do a lot worse than the Flash...

IIRC, the suit was buffed up to protect Barry Allen from the friction of high speed. But you're right; they probably were copying a page from Batman.

I'd love to see this one on DVD as well. My favorite episode was the one with The Ghost and The Nightshade. Also, the show did a good job remaking the villains into something other than costumed nuts - again, IIRC, Captain Cold was a mercenary who had a cold gun, no parka or slitted shades, just a guy hungry for money… that's a bad dude.

that show rocked when it was on. high production value, and a perfectly casted barry allen. too bad the show ended so soon. the ratings didn't justify the costs.

If i remember correctly they put up agaisnt "The Cosby Show" which at the time was one of the highest rated shows(at least in its time slot). So it didn't have much of a chance. But i liked it. I'd at least buy the 2hr pilot on dvd.

It went up against both "The Cosby Show" and "The Simpsons".

Never had a chance.

I watch almost everyone of the shows and I would pick up the box set in a Flash.

Actually, I remember this about Flash: We would gather around the TV on Thursday nights to watch Simpsons and then flip over to Flash, which started at 7:30CST. They moved the start time back a half hour specifically to avoid Cosby and Simpsons. Didn't help enough to keep it around, but at least it lasted a season.

Here's the schedule for that year : http://www.inthe90s.com/prim9091.shtml

Another reason it didnt do well in the ratings, is because of the Gulf War.

I remeber waiting for new episodes to air, and then Dan rather would cut in for long periods causing "The Flash" not to be seen because of the happenings in Iraq.

The episodes that were cut, due to war coverage were show at 2-3:00am in the morning.

It was a great show in my opinion, the writing was dead on.

hopefully it will make its way to DVD

You're exactly right. I had a scrapbook when I was a kid of different superhero related clippings (yeah, I was a big geek, but I was a kid!) and I remember specifically a "Flash" ad from TV guide that said something to the effect of "After Bill and Bart, change the channel FAST!"
