I'm going to take one title...
In order to conquer my DVD Snacking problem (see thread) I am going to take one title and binge on its extras, bleeding it dry of every last drop.
1) Choose a particularly loaded title.
2) Watch the main feature.
3) Watch it again, this time with commentary.
4) Sift though every single extra.
5) Search for Easter Eggs.
All in one sitting...
Any suggestions for prospective titles? The more extras-laden, the better. Here's for an around the clock DVD-binging session.

If you're looking for fully loaded discs that will take all day, I'd vote for Se7en or LOTR EE (both have mutiple commentaries, featurettes, easter eggs, etc. Or you might go for X-Men 1.5. Must press the play all button on the documentary and be prepared to sit there for a good long while.
Have fun!

T2: UE. You'll have to go through a lot of text screens on the supplemental but it's one of the best ways to learn the entire process on making a big-budget action film.

Fight Club. See you in a week!
Seriously, that's a great idea! I'm terrible about watching extras. I love DVDs that are loaded with lots of special features, but then I never seem to watch them.

GIANT is a recent release that could kill the day for you. as could ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA - each is a long film with audio commentary and tons of documentaries. And dont't forget FIGHT CLUB with 4 commentary tracks - about 12 hours worth right there, and you still have the 2nd DVD to get through.

As a footnote, my Punch-Drunk Love session ended only 30 minutes after the movie. Jeez, what a slender 2-disc set.
Might just do the Pearl Harbor set, after all I do actually 'like' the film. The CGI actually works here, weighty and seemingly sharing the same space as the 'live action' stuff (if it exists - Ha!)
But the most enticing 'full immersion' movies remain the LOTR 4/5 disc'er, the Fincher movies or perhaps Memento (3 watchings of the movie might be in order on the latter).

I second T2: UE. The hours of extras will seem like nothing compared to watching all three versions of the film.

How about the Criterion version of either "The Rock" or "Armageddon." At the end of the viewing session, you'll either feel a sense of great accomplishment or you'll want to kill yourself (depending on how much you despise Michael Bay.)

I make it a rule for myself to watch every extra on every DVD, including commentaries. I try to do it all at once before allowing myself to move on to the next DVD, but that doesn't always work. I have a list of which DVDs remain "unfinished," and which extras remain to be watched.

I used to love watching extras, but now it seems like I only have time to watch the films on the dvd's, which is a shame since I own some dvds with great SE feautures. I thought about cutting back on my dvd purchases, but with all of the titles coming out in august and the fall, I just couldn't resist.

The key word is OWN. You will get around to watching them sometime, they aren't going anywhere! I have a ton of DVD's with great extras that I haven't even given a glance, I will get around to it someday!

When I'm looking for a movie, I look to see the extra features. However, more and more, I just care about the movie itself. Superbits, which I used to despise, actually right now represent what I'm looking for most of the time: picture and audio quality amped up to the max. A films colors and beauty showing with a hi bit rate really matters.

I just started doing this a while ago, starting my collection again alphabetically and watching every feature, commentary, etc. It's taking a while, but I'm seeing some great stuff. in the "F's" now.
