I've refused to buy Space Jam because the current release is not OAR ... I'll grab the new one in a flash!

Basic buying rule: No OAR = No Sale.

Nice. I'm not interested in any of the 3, but whenever a movie is re-released in it's OAR it's always good news. I'm still waiting for the Jerk and Happy Gilmore in 16x9 here.

You're right Civic2oo1. Yep lets go Universal catch up with Happy Gilmore and the Jerk! These are the two that need it.

And don't stop now WB. Get that Ace Ventura Special Edition out and in the words of Harry Dunn "Totally redeem yourself" :-)

I am all for widescreen over pan and scam
how about "Jade" 1995 and include the *cut* out ending.

P.S. I hate when they cut out the last few minutes to save themselves money, while they're groping for more royalties holding up DVD sales.

Just look at the "The High and the Mighty" 1954 color it's still being held up by the Wayne foundation. If they keep wrangling with it people who liked John Wayne and a young Robert Stack, will be in their graves or the old folks home. Old folks homes which will not allow people to buy DVD players, let alone individual discs!

If you want an example view "The Green Mile" they are 'all' watchng a 4:3 analog TV.

Glad to see it, although a $27 Space Jam might have to wait until I find one on the used shelf.

If every basketball on the planet disappeared and they lost the specs to make any more, I wouldn't shed a tear.

Yet I'll be picking up Space Jam because it's a Looney Tunes flick.

"Chariots of fire" has an excellent, feature-laden WS release in R2, and "Frantic" is also WS in R2... studio bastards!

I wish they'd rerelease the recently released New York Stories in widescreen.

And Death Becomes Her, preferably as part of an SE.

Curses! You beat me to it but will reiterate - "Chariots of Fire" has an excellent ws transfer in R2.

Incidentally the best distinction I've heard (and this from dvdTalk forum) is fool screen and wise screen.

I guess I'm one of the few who likes Space Jam so I'm psyched about the re-release in its OAR. I'm just happy it's being released in October and not in November like everything else. Now if someone can re-release Running on Empty I wll be a happy camper.
