BRAZIL R3 (Korean Release)
Just saw this on DVDASIAN's site. IT LISTS IT AS BEING ANAMORPHIC!!!
Anybody have any info on how good the transfer is on this? I'd love to have a 16x9 DVD of Brazil to complement my Criterion set. It also list a 142 minute running time, which would be Gilliam's definitive cut.

I noticed this myself, and would also be interested in some info. As nice as anamorphic is, it's still 1.85:1 on this disc which is cropped from the OAR as can be seen below:

As for the OPEN MATTE versus the 1.85:1 widescreen, I still prefer the widescreen. True it might have more picture on the top and bottom, but the framing is intended to be shown at 1.85:1. Otherwise why wouldn't TG have Brazil released on DVD with a 4:3 Open Matte... Since he worked with Criterion so much on the LD/3-DVD release if he preferred it at 4:3 then that's what they'd release.
