Carlito's Way:SE 9/2!!!!

Hey all,

Thanks to DavisDVD for confirming this.

9/2

Anamorphic Widescreen

Extras TBA.

Another one to replace

Hopefully it will have that GREAT teaser trailer on it that had lines from a whole bunch of Pacino's movies.

I'm guessing this a new transfer? The transfer on the current DVD is suck. If so, then

Thanks for the info.

I've never seen it, but ever since I had smoe info on the upcoming Scarface DVD, customers at work have now been asking for this title.

Sweet!!!!! It's about time. I hope they put together some good extras for this one - a commentary by DePalma, Pacino, and Penn would be great. A making-of documentary would be cool too.

Awesome! I saw this one on LD about a decade ago and it blew me away. I've been holding off on the DVD because I heard the current one is suck. I'll definitely pick this one up.

DePalma has said that he hasn't done a commentary cause no one has asked him. Someone ask him!

Yeah, and I just picked up the current one about a month ago. Oh well, I'll just pawn off all my "un-wanted" DVDs to my dad, he doesn't know any better

This is great news! I've been wanting both this and Scarface, but have held off due to the lackluster transfers. Hopefully, both of these titles get the red carpet treatment that they deserve!

Yeah - no kidding. This would be the perfect film for him to record a commentary.

Fantastic news. This is one of my favorite films and most watched dvds. Penn and Pacino give incredible performances.

Everyone remember LOTR star, Viggo Mortensen's performance?

The rest of the cast in not too shabby:

Al Pacino .... Carlito Brigante
Sean Penn .... David Kleinfeld
Penelope Ann Miller .... Gail
John Leguizamo .... Benny Blanco
Ingrid Rogers .... Steffie
Luis Guzmán .... Pachanga (as Luis Guzman)
James Rebhorn .... D.A. Norwalk
Joseph Siravo .... Vinnie Taglialucci
Viggo Mortensen .... Lalin
Richard Foronjy .... Pete Amadesso
Jorge Porcel .... Saso
Frank Minucci .... Tony Taglialucci
Adrian Pasdar .... Frankie Taglialucci
John Ortiz (I) .... Guajiro (as John Augstin Ortiz)
Ángel Salazar .... Walberto

If you haven't seen it. This is a no brainer blind buy.

Great news, and I'm glad I held off buying this a few weeks ago. I've come to like this movie even more than Scarface.

Why wasn't CARLITO'S WAY a hit at the box-office?
It had the same star, director, producer as SCARFACE.
Where was the rap crowd?

I checked a few sites, all I found was that it's 16X9 and 5.1 DD. With a MSRP of $19.99 I'm not expecting much else on this dvd.

Pretty sweet cover too:

I'm not expecting much in the way of extras considering DePalma is involved and he doesn`t do anything to promote his films on dvd

...As long as the the transfer/audio is good I`ll be happy

Looks like there isn't much by way of special features, and a horrible, horrible cover...

Damn, why the heck is this called a special edition? Guess I'll be hanging onto my older copy.
