Farscape Complete Season 2 Box Set release date???

Getting season 1 in a few days and I was wondering when Season 2 of Farscape would availible in a Box Set like Season 1... I've scoured for some info on this, but came up empty. Anybody know anything?

Of course I could always pick up the Region 4 Box set since it's already released over in Aussie world...

I believe ADV stated some time ago that they didn't have any plans to release more Farscape in box form.

It doesn't make much sense to me either.

Even if they did release one.... it would just be the exact same five 2disc sets that are currently out now.... just... put in a cardboard box. May as well just buy the R1's.

Yup, looks like you can get the R4's shipped for around $100 to the states, where if you buy them seperately I'd be about $120. Plus supposedly the R4's have exclusive commentaries??? That's just what I read from the R4 dvd site, dunno if it's true.

This review outlines the differences between the R4 and the R1 versions.

R4 gets four commentaries that R1 doesn't, but R1 gets deleted scenes that R4 doesn't. There also appear to be differences in the text-based extras the regions get, but those are all fairly trivial.

The R4 transfers suffer from MPEG artifacts (going so far as to lose entire frames to pixellation) that I've yet to see in the R1 transfers, and then there's the whole PAL/NTSC thing, but the R4 does work out to most likely be cheaper.

So I don't think there's a clear 'best'.

Hmmm... Interesting. I thought I heard something about possible shady transfers on the R4 discs. That's dissapointing.

Don't know if you bought the DVDs yet, but according to this listing at Right Stuf, the season 2 set is going to be released on October 28, for MSRP $150.

It looks like the pattern will be season sets released after the following season has been completely released.

Damnit, I bought the individual releases. I hope the features are the same.

Right Stuf frequently lists ADV titles before ADV does the official press release and adds it to their site (The four release dates ADV 'announced' on their site on July 18 were added to Right Stuf's site on July 1.) They got the information for ADV October releases today, some 20-something DVDs, and this particular boxset was one of them.

Right Stuf will not list a DVD for sale until they've gotten the SKU from the producing company. I'd consider this hard evidence that the set is coming, though there's a slim chance the details may change slightly before release.

I wouldn't get your hopes up without good reason.

Kudos to ADV if Season 2 does end up getting the box treatment.

OK, I'me very confused. Everyone here is posting that Farscape will no longer have any more Season boxsets. But I help run a comic book store, & I'm looking at the new Diamond previews order form, & it has listed right here, Farscape: Complete Second Season Box Set, with a picture of it available to order.

So why is everyone saying that there will never be a second season boxset?

Because that is what ADV themselves have said in online chats.

If there's a 2nd set coming out, they've clearly changed their minds. Which is good news.

Farscape Season 2 Complete DVD Box Set
From A.D. Vision! Finally, all 22 episodes of Farscape's unforgettable second seaon in a box set! Scheduled to ship in October 2003.
Now, could Canadian fans tell me if there's any differences between the US/Canadian season one box sets? [French text, etc..]

Did they ever say "No, absolutely never"? I've poked around trying to find a quote, and I suspect people misinterpreted ADV's standard response to "When are you releasing a boxset of [blank]?"

ADV regularly comes back with, "We have no plans to release a boxset of [blank] at this time." I know they said this at at least one convention, re: Farscape S2. It doesn't actually mean anything; they don't want to announce the box too early, and risk depressing sales of the individual volumes. I think it's technically true, since the question is most frequently asked before official work on the sets begin. It's pretty misleading, but consistent the way they've handled their anime collections in the past.

Nice. Expensive, but nice.

Have to hope for a double-discount triple-super duper coupon for this one.

Indeed. I absolutly hate the way ADV releases box sets, episodes etc. They did a similar thing with Robotech, and had I known I would have bought the box sets instead of buying the single episodes. As with Farscape, I said forget it, and bought the 2 disc versions (I just recieved 3.4 yesterday in fact). ADV at least releases these titles however, as I'm still reserving true hate for Universal (I want Exo Squad damn it).

Weren't the Robotech box sets released on the exact same days as the single discs?
