What's the rarest DVD of the Terminator DVDs releast so far?

I am just wondering because I have a T2 UE DVD the metal case but is on 2 dvd 9's with cover art instead of the single DVD dual sided that all of the many others of the T2 Metal DVDs I have seen are. I have never seen another one with a two-disk and all the ones on ebay are a single disk for this version. Was it a limited produced disk? If you know anything about it, whats the deal? Thanks

The production facilities that produce the DVD18 (dual side/dual-layer) couldn't handle the entire production run so they also produced a 2 disc set.

There was another thread about this (sorry, don't feel like searching for it) and it seemed like most had the single disc but there were a fair number who had the 2-disc set, so it's not really rare.

It has a "New" cover if it can be called that. It's really just the same cover as the shiny one without the "shiny". It looks just like a picture now and pretty cheap looking now also.

I'm gonna go w/ a T2: Extreme Edition with Mint Condition tin AND keep case, followed closely by the 2-disc Ultimate Edition.

I'm just curious. Does the 2 disc ultimate edition have the same UPC as the single disc DVD-18 ? I have the 2 disc DVD-9's and when I input the UPC on guzzlefish it shows up as the double sided DVD-18.

2-disc non metal case is not rare. 2-disc metal is rare.

Oooooh Rare, cause I know it will build me my retirement home in florida when it becomes super rare and we hack it on ebay.

Whats the point of asking which one is the rarest version? they all contain the same matter on the disc.. and really, thats all that matters. I doubt it will be any more rarer since their is already thousand and thousands out there.

Ah, glad to know. Jerks like me... riight. Anyhow. Please learn how to read into a thread the sarcasm of what's posted so you wont respond with what sounds more like Your own panties being tangled in a wad Mr. Cool new member.

Future note, DVD's that say "collectors edition" wont really be worth anymore then what you bought them for.

Put your thumb and forefinger really, really close together and look at it very carefully. Because that's how close you are to being suspended for a personal attack.

You do realize that Ebay prices do not mean or even should lead folks to believe that what you are sitting on is a goldmind. the whole Idea of Collecting destroyed a lot of things. I will bring comic books into this for an example. Folks saw how big comics were getting and how much some folks were getting for older comics. Do you know why they were getting so much for them? Because in the past, the comics weren't collectors items. they were something someone read and just tossed out. Either that or the mom tossed it or or whatever. the point was not everyone on the block was collecting a massive amounts of comics. And when you look at it, Not all comics were hot items. It all depended on what the public demanded.

Now you got the point that the main reason it becomes a collectors item is because it is rare. When we talk about dvd'swe are talking about items that are produced in the millions. These are not rare. Just because your dvd or the five folks you know who also have the film don't have a different version doesn't mean anything towards the collectablity of the dvd. besides, there is no difference in context were as if you compare it to say THIS IS SPINAL TAP Criterion collection and Special edition.. they have different content and one is no longer inprint, nor was it ever really high in number of prints. Do you know why? because it was a smaller market back then and titles cost more and many other factors. the point is you shouldn't consider these things your plans for retirement. especially for something as silly as a small varient. Sure, som variant items are worth something in other fields and in many sense in the dvd world.. but those are cases that are uncommon. say for example Little shop of horror. anyhow. trust me, a Collectors item will not raise in value unless it's some outside force besides it's letters "collectors edition". further more on ebay, It's not the words "collectors edition" or "special edition" or "Limited Edition" (Just look at all the stores lacking in SAVING PRIVATE RYAN limited editions being in stock). Those are not the selling points to those morons on ebay. the selling point is what also leads them to dvdtalk when they win the auction for "Learn how to get dvd's cheap! $1.00"

So your one of those lurkers who just sits in the shadows and waits to see what the next OOP title is to horde it up at the store and sit on them for a month just to unload them on ebay when it's hard to find.

You are what killed comic book, toy, etc. etc. collecting. The scalpers of the format. thanks again mr. member.

I'm cool with the Curiosity point of it all. D-ball. Just when the person makes it sound like they want to know which one they can get the biggest amount for seems odd. I would say that both were passed around just as much as the other. When I bought T2 i heard just as many folks who got the 2 disc vs those who got the dvd 18. So it really seems like a non issue since they both have the same context over all.

Guzzlefish can be pretty infuriating. I put in the UPC Code from the extreme edition and the Ultimate Edition set kept coming up. I started entering in the info myself but got bored and quit.

If you just read the post instead of analyzing it you could easily tell that I am just wondering what the deal with the 2-disc version is since I hadn't seen any before. Nowhere do I state I need this info for ebay, I never thought of selling this DVD since it is the only one I have. It may seem a non-issue to you but it’s not to me. There was no need for you to come in here and thread crap if you couldn’t contribute to the thread.

So your one of those lurkers who just sits in the shadows and waits to see what the next OOP title is to horde it up at the store and sit on them for a month just to unload them on ebay when it's hard to find.
Your a real nice person accusing me of this stuff, you don't even know me so I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't defame my character in this lying way. I have never went out and bought OOP DVDs and stored them for a month only to sell later on ebay. The 4 OOPs I sold on ebay where from my collection and became oop after I bought them. Those titles where having re-releases (which I hate) so I decided I needed to get rid of them since I would be buying the newer ones. Besides I don't make a lot of money and I was able to pay some necessity bills with what they sold for.

Jack makes some very good points regarding the "death" of collecting. We live in a time now where people have the mentality that almost anything might be valuable some day, so almost nothing gets thrown away. I always try to think about in 50 years time, what items would actually be considered rare and valuable from, say, the 1990's? Probably something that people don't give a second thought to now, as that's how it will become "rare".

That's why I'm buying every copy of Kangaroo Jack I find. I know that puppy will make me rich, Rich as nazi's!

A mental note. Whenever a toy, comic, item carries the title "Collectors Edition".. it really wont be worth much more then what was paid for it for the simple reason that everyone will buy it. These terms have become market gimmicks for companies to place to insure a few extra bucks. The scary thing is the masses are eating it up. Look at Ebay. You should never base the worth of something on a system that is filled with Non paying bidders, folks who are not working and those out for a quick buck. When it comes down to it, it's just one merchant trading items for another in the sense that the cash the sellers get are usually spent on gas and that sort of thing hunting down the next hot item before the fad goes away.

As for you Woody, Look. Whenever a new member jumps on the forum and ask a lot of questions about what is OOP or hot or that sort of "Inside" info you have to stop for a second and wonder. It might not have been nice for me to accuse you of being a scalper, but I wasnt just pointing fingers at you. I was saying in general about the status of collecting in the world today. It might not have been nice, but in no way should you jump back and follow with a bigger attack and make yourself sound like a scalper with the whole "Put your panties in a wad" comment.

I wouldn't have made the panty wad comment (which I apologies) if you didn't crap on my thread. If you didn't make the inference of me being a "scalper" this whole thing would have never started. Like I said, if you read the first post you can easily tell I am just wondering about any info on this version of the disc. I nowhere asked what the value would be or if anyone had sold one at all. I stated twice I just wanted to know what's the info on the disc. This thread has gotten far from the subject of what was originally asked. Thanks for letting me hear your point of view on "scalping", just next time make sure before you accuse someone of something you have the facts straight.

Back on topic, I have the 2 disc version. When these were released I looked for the 2 disc version just so I would'nt have to flip discs. Just load em up and use disc skip on my remote.
