Is Fox Playing with our Heads? 24: Season #2 Coming on 9/2, 9/23 or not at all??

As you can see from the DVDTalk front page, 24: Season #2 is up for preorder at DVDPlanet or DVD Empire. Both sites list different dates and I just received this e-mail from Amazon this morning:
Greetings from Amazon.com.
We've recently learned from our supplier that the item you requested to be notified about, 24 - Season Two, will not be available in the foreseeable future.
It's possible that someone may be selling this item through Amazon.com Auctions or zShops.
We're sorry not to have better news for you.

I was really looking forward to this release as I'm cable TV deficient and I watch everything on DVD. Anyone got a more solid release date for this set?
