My Darling Clementine?

I was shocked to discover that the 1946 John Ford classic, "My Darling Clementine," isn't on DVD. Honestly! It stars Henry Fonda and Walter Brennan for crying out loud.

Anybody know anything about the title? Is it in the works or something?

It's a natural for the Fox Studio Classics line. I'm sure we'll see it someday, hopefully in a special edition that does it justice.

I've only seen bits and pieces of it, but I've always wanted to see the whole thing... I really liked what I've seen thus far.

(I was reminded of it today when I was watching FX's M*A*S*H network... There's an episode when the entire camp watches it.)

Good movie. There's a few alternate takes that weren't in the original release that showed up at a UCLA archive screening in 1996; hope they stick those in there...

They also showed the UCLA restoration on AMC, where I saw it , back in the days before AMC started adding commercials and I stopped watching the channal. I don't think the UCLA restored cut was ever released on video (VHS or LD) so hopefully in will be included as a future Fox Classics release as well as The Grapes of Wraith (announced and then cancelled) and others.

Did Fox ever announce exactly why The Grapes of Wrath was not released as planned? I never learned why it was removed from the release schedule and I am curious to know. This would have been an instant purchase for me. Needless to say, I was very disappointed.

I believe Peter Staddon of Fox hinted that both versions of My Darling Clementine will be on the eventual release; a few weeks ago at HTF. He didn't give a date though.
