Terminator Trilogy DVD

Not much news yet but at least its a start i guess, considering T-3 was released just today, but anyways, here is the info i found,

Terminator - The Maxed Out Edition

Its been at least a week since a new Terminator DVD has been announced but its been worth the wait. This winter will see the release of the new Terminator Nuclear Max Trilogy - 'Maxed out'

Rumour has it that the trilogy boxset will be 'Maxed Out To The Tilt' and will contain every single edition of the Terminator movies ever released on DVD...thats an astonishing 8 disks worth of 'Fully Nuked' Arnie footage. Unfortunately, early word is that the contents of the set will be almost identical to the originals.

Well, I'm sure that they will be forced to re-release these in another box set when T4 comes out.. Man, I know they just hate releasing the terminator films on dvd sooooo much, so it will be hard for them to be re-release it...

It's more than likely a joke. Since 3 different companies (MGM for T1, Artisan for T2, and Warner Bros. for T3) own the movies, I don't see a "Maxed-Out" set unless all three studios cooperated.

Heh it's a blatant joke, poking fun at the fact that T2 has been released so many times. And I happen to agree

T1's been released twice and T2's been released three times. Hardly unusual.

I saw Bruce Campbell speak at the Egyptian Theater a week ago and he totally ripped on the Army of Darkness releases (hilariously, as usual), with Anchor Bay executives sitting in the audience!

You're right! This new edition will be ultimately tricked out to the extreme.

You don't understand, Artisan is FORCING these people to buy each edition, so they have to cry and whine about it..

Although this is a cute cover, I seriously doubt they would put "Forget the Matrix" on the box...considering both T3 and The Matrix are distributed by Warners.

So, about mentioning T4...I mean is T4 a go? I haven't heard anything except that the characters have it in their contract to return for a sequal....if they decide to do one.

Does anyone else suspect that next year there's going to be a 20th Anniversary SuperMega Special Edition of the original Terminator, with bells & whistles and a Cameron commentary??

MGM just re-released the T1 SE with a new cover so I doubt there will be anew version out anytime soon.

Very amusing thread, but often unintentionally
Even if they released a super maxed out dupitiy doo extra poop edition I wouldn't be interested. The T1 set rocks, and I'm very happy with my Ultimate Edition of T2. I don't have high hopes for T3, so I doubt I'll be picking that one up period.

Depends on how well T3 does at the box office, doesn't it? Not just the opening weekend but also how much staying power it has (i.e. plans for Hulk 2 have probably been scrapped).

When they released T2: Ultimate Edition, I think everyone assumed they were done. With all the other movies out there that haven't been released at all on DVD, did they really need to try to top Ultimate?

$

... not to mention transfer complaints and the lack of a proper Cameron/Wisher commentary.

I think it all depends on Arnold to be honest.
