The Professional & Lawrence of Arabia coming to Superbit!
Just saw this on dvdfile.com. Looks like I'll be making my own Lawrence of Arabia Superbit Deluxe like I did with Men In Black. Kept the Superbit case and disc and took the 2nd disc with the special features from the last special edition release and gave my non-DVD collecting sister the old 1st MIB disc.

Superbit Leon, that should be good. The regular release isn't jam packed with extras so there's no real reason not to upgrade for better picture and sound.

Leon SB will probably be my only SB DVD. Well, maybe I should get 5th Element for reference purpose too. But Leon SB will be awesome. The Int. version is just too much for a regular extend DVD.

i'm kind of worry about the Lawrence superbit... if they're using "new transfer" i guess it will fix the black level over the current release...
but then again, i might have the DTS sound of Lawrence... yummy
leon superbit... again DTS, yummy

Looks like this is indeed the Uncut International version.

This is being discussed over at HTF. Someone remarked that Robert Harris was being completely silent on the new Superbit (he restored the latest theatrical version). So they assumed it was the old transfer being used. He finally spoke up and said "Don't assume anything". The obvious conclusion is that it's the new transfer, although he never actually said that.

Our own Robert A. Harris, who originally restored Lawrence in the 1990s under the supervision of director David Lean, is personally involved in the transfer and remastering of the new Superbit version, so you can be sure it will be the very best presentation of the film yet released on DVD. We'll hear more from Robert on this in the coming weeks.
Seems like it will be a new transfer of Lawrence of Arabia

But will this new Superbit version of Léon finally include the (oddly) missing scene of Danny Aiello getting beaten up in the birthday and Gary Oldman shooting one of Aiello's guys and then a gun being held to one of the kids at thye birthday party? It was in the "Integral" version but missing from the US release.

I have the US "Uncut International Version." it's based on the Japanese Integral release. But the original French Integral release had this footage intact. In it we realise that Danny Aiello's character didn't rat Léon (Jean Reno) out because of the beating he received but because Stansfield (Gary Oldman) was going to kill one of his grandkids. Considering how verbose the back of the US release is at claiming that the new footage is so explicit (none of it is), I'm surprised they chose to shy away from including this particular scene.
