I doubt it, since it still wouldn't be complete until New Line acquired the first 8 "Friday the 13th" films from Paramount (they own "Jason Goes to Hell" and "Jason X"). Adding a movie featuring Jason would just open up a whole can of worms. There'll never be a complete set that contains both franchises, so why even bother with a "more complete" box set that's still missing movies?

Yep, it sure is nice to dream. Even if all the rights for all the other Friday The 13th films were taken care of... they probably *almost guaranteed* wouldn't release all the Fridays and Nightmares in one big box set. They would have the Friday collection and a Nightmare collection. And at that point...they would probably include Freddy Vs. Jason in both box sets, for those who are the 'Friday' fans and for those who are the 'Nightmare' fans. And of course, then we'd be stuck with duplicates. Because just from being on these forums, you can see that a gazillion people are waiting patiently?/impatiently? for a Friday collection. They die hard dvd collectors and the horror fans will buy both sets and then have these dups. Or, you could just buy the Nightmare set now... and wait. Then you can have FreddyV.Jason in that boxed set. But then again, no guarantee that the rights will ever be taken care of for the original Friday films, and if you're a bigger Nightmare fan, wouldn't you rather have the 'Nightmare' set containing this big battle b/w the two evils? It's all incredibly anal thinking about all the possibilities but I have a point... even if we get the Friday sets and a new Nightmare set, there's going to be a lot of unhappy people. The real 'Freddy' vs. 'Jason' would be much more than a movie after these dvd releases

I'm not sure. But I am sure of this--it's helpful if you include a bit more info in your thread title, such as "New Line redoing Nightmare box set?" or something like that.

I have it on good word..if you check out the www.mhvf.net forum, that Paramount is actually doing 'something' with the F13th films..& it seems like more than just adding a featurette. More likely, tracking down uncut & alternate/deleted scenes..since Don May Jr says they've hired quite a few people to work on it.
Of course we will just have to wait & see how that turns out.
As for a redo of the Elm St films. I'm not aware of a 'unrated' part 3. Yet part 5 was released unrated on video & laserdisc.
Yet if any useable footage from the other films that was cut to avoid an X could be restored. That'd be awsome..& all the Elite LD features..& all trailers/tv spots would make a more complete set.
Still the current set is still very nice..& the films look & sound great. Which is pretty much all i could ask for.
