Question about Dune 3-Disc?

Does the 3-Disc version of Dune come with a slip cover?

I'm assuming that you are asking about the first miniseries and not the new Children of Dune. Mine did not come with a slip cover, but then again, I got mine through Columbia House.

If you get it from Germany on 24th July it comes with a CD in a leather book with silver print lined with velvet with the discs cased in small metal cases

The 3-disc R1 Dune that I have comes in a cardboard case that opens like a book to reveal the DVD's.
Kind of annoying since the first time you open it, it puts a big crease right down the middle of the spine.

RichDB10 and Romerojpg, you are talking about David Lynch's version of Dune. The thread is referring to the "Frank Herbert's Dune" miniseries. Different animals completely.

Just out of curiosity...

Is the German version the theatrical cut, or something longer? And if it's the latter, what are the chances that Davey will sic his lawyers on it?

The upcoming German 4-disc release of the 1984 film will include Lynch's theatrical cut and the longer TV cut (credited to Alan Smithee), plus a disc of supplements and a soundtrack CD. No new version has been created.

There is a thread about this ongoing in the International Forum.

Being that this is not what this thread is meant to be about, I suggest we move conversation about the German disc to that thread, and leave this one for discussion of the "Frank Herbert's Dune" miniseries DVD.
