Lost in La Mancha...Lost on Shelves?

Has anyone had any luck finding Lost in their town? The only store in my area to have it is Suncoast at $29.99. Not finding it nearly brought a tear to my eye...

You guys ain't kidding! NOBODY in Detroit had it, I resorted to a local video store that gets everything known to man in for sale. Paid $22.99 so I don't feel that jipped.

You live in Detroit? Cool man, I live in Clarkston. Anyways, back to topic, I haven't seen it anywhere, but I'm not looking too hard, I just glance the shelves to see if they have it.

Is it a conscious effort to "hype" the movie, by keeping it scarce in the video stores ?

For some weird reason, it took over ten days to even see a copy of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" in a store, and then it was a used copy I had to buy.

What's up with that ????

It is a smaller video company (Docurama). You can't find most of their films in stores.

I didn't even bother looking for it in stores. Didn't think any of them would carry it.

Borders in San Diego has a boatload of copies in a special display. Full MSRP, though.

Not to make you feel bad, but my work is only about a 10 minute drive from dvdplanet also. I guess that's why I have so many damn dvds.

Just saw it last night at my video store. Well, I saw the box for it, it had been rented (though the VHS was available). I went with "Rabbit-Proof Fence". The price was right (2 for $1 rentals on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays).

I'll have to try Fry's this weekend. I finally found a copy at Suncoast, but I didn't want to pay $29.99 for it at the time.

We do have plenty of copies at Borders, but unfortunately it is full price at $29.99. However, it looks like we will have it on sale for $24.99 in July b/c that is how it is listed in our in-store pamphlet for next month.

Out of curiosity, if a person were to buy it now and keep the receipt, could they get a refund on the difference once it does go on sale?

Thanks for the heads up. Just placed an order.

Depp & Gilliam, two of my favorite people in working in films today, I was so looking foreward to this movie.

It would probably depend on whoever is the manager-on-duty. As far as I know, we have no such policy one way or the other.

that's downright bizarre. I bought my copy of "20,000" at CVS for $16 with a store coupon and CVS customer card.
