Old School - DTS dropout on Canadian Reg 1? There on US Reg 1 too?

Hi,

I have the Canadian Unrated Reg 1 of Old School and noticed a dropout on the DTS soundtrack at around 00:34:40. Played the same bit with DD5.1 soundtrack instead and no dropout.

Firstly, anyone else notice this?

Secondly, can anyone confirm if this is present/absent on the US Reg 1 as well?

Thanks

I have the US Unrated version. No dropout here at all, DTS or DD.

Thanks for your reply

It's very odd. It occurs just as it changes from Chapter 7 to Chapter 8 and is a brief distortion in the music that's playing. The fact it doesn't occur on the DD soundtrack at the same point rules out a faulty disk.

Anyone else?

Is that also the layer change by any chance?

No it's not Pete. Layer change is much later

Anyway... I feel embarassed now because the dts track on Old School plays 100% perfect today! WTF is going on? I just watched The Haunting (DTS-ES Discrete version) and when it finished I thought I'd try Old School again. I've tried it several times and it plays perfectly, no dropout!!

Maybe my receiver just got a bit flustered and needed turning on/off? Bizarre!!

How's the commentary and extras? Worth the purchase if I already have this on DIVX?

YES! You should definitley buy it if you liked the movie. It had a great commentary with Wilson, Ferrell, & Vaugn. Also, it had some amusing deleted scenes. But the really cool special feature was the Inside The Actors Studio spoof shot for the DVD. Which was Will Ferrell doing his James Lipton and interviewing the stars. He used to do it on SNL.

Long Story Short.... yes buy it.
