Nowadays, filmmakers are planning the DVD almost as soon as conception on a project begins. Case in point, "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" where producers have already gathered enough material for not one, but two DVDs to be released simultaneously.
"That's how we finally get our money back," jokes "Charlie's Angels" producer Nancy Juvonen.
One DVD will contain the theatrical PG-13 cut of the film, while the second will have a grittier version.
"I do have an unrated version," says McG. "The film was too crazy -- it was too sexual, it was too violent -- I had to back off."
But producer/star Drew Barrymore objects to the word "unrated."
"No, it's not unrated. Trust me, I would know," says Barrymore as co-star Cameron Diaz giggles and laughs, "Oh my God ... Wow, what did I do?"
"There's going to be some things on the DVD that we had to cut out of the ship's hull sequence because the action was actually too dark," Barrymore elaborates.
"There was blood, it's grittier. You don't see blood flying out of someone's mouth [anymore]," adds fellow Angel Lucy Liu.
"I don't like watching violence; I would much rather see more skin than violence," says Barrymore.
Producers are using two different companies to create the DVDs, which will also have an audio track by the actresses during a pajama party and a short adventure film with the "Charlie's Angles" dolls similar to the one on the "Rambo" DVD.
As of press time, there is no release date set for the DVDs. "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, June 27.

No different from any other unrated versions. A few cuts were made, they'll add them in for the DVD. Not sure why anyone would think negatively of this. You all want the director's vision right
Even if it is 5 unnoticable minutes...

Charlies Agels were so far from what James Bond is it's not even funny. Don't lower 007 to Rucy Riu.

The quickest way to get your movie officially "unrated" is ..... don't submit it for a rating. Even Finding Nemo could be officially "unrated" if it hadn't been submitted to the MPAA.

The problem is that there are too many puerile, ignorant, think-with-their-crotch "adult males" who automatically assume that "unrated" equals "soft-core porn." Hence the marketing ploy.

I am not sure what else was being said but this quote stood out
"I would much rather see more skin than violence," says Barrymore
Now here is hoping that this movie does well so we can get more skin in the next one
