The Quiet Man - Collector's Edition

Has anyone bought "The Quiet Man - Collector's Edition" recently? I bought one last week, put it in my player, and it froze up at chapter 24. The store replaced it and the second DVD froze at the same spot. Is there a recall on these? How can I contact Artisan Entertainment?

I purchased a copy several months ago and didn't have any problems with the disc. As far as I know there are no recalls for the DVD. Are you sure the problem isn't with your DVD player?

No problems here unless you count the horrendous video quality!

Awful, awful transfer! It is almost un-watchable...

But the good news is that the rights to the film have been transfered to Paramount, and rumor has it a Re-Mastered version of this all-time classic will be coming out soon (1 or 2 years perhaps?)...

Let's hope it has the Maureen O' Hara bits, they are a great bonus.

I agree the transfer is horrendous and part of the reason why I have a hard time shopping at target or buying artisan dvds is because this transfer is so putrid that Target nor Artisan would take back their product due to an extremely unsatisfied customer.

So I had to off it on half.com. But I let the buyer know that the transfer was dissapointing.

Yeah, Artisan puked all over this one...

HortaEgg - I'm willing to bet it's a player compatibility problem. What type of player are you spinning it on?

was the Artisan transfer on this newer pressing "Collectors Edition" the same as the first bare bones version, or was it simply that Artisan messed up the transfer twice?
