Classic Sci-Fi/Horror fans, what's the release list for July-Sept?

I've been hearing of many old classic sci-fi/horror titles that have been in the "why don't they release this one" catagory comming this summer/fall. I'm lost on which ones and what released dates.

Ones I've heard of are The Thing, Omega Man, Solyvent Green, the next wave of MGM Midnite movies, The Haunting, Outer Limits season 2 , and more!

Anybody compile a "get" list yet?

You might want to try a power search at dvdpricesearch.com.
You can select the genre, and ask for pre-releases only. (You can leave everything else blank, and it defaults to "all stores".)

Nice lists

I see a couple of Harryhausens's classics coming out on October.
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, and The Valley of Gwangi. Can't wait.

I would think that Paramount would have dates set for Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell and Captain Kronos by now.

Surely they want them released in time for a Halloween promotion.

Looks like I'll be binging this August with the rest of you.

I'm also curious to know what's going on with Captain Kronos. This is in my top five of most anticipated movies for release. I think I heard about this 6 months ago and still no date announced.

I hope this isn't another title that's getting shoved to next year.

Perhaps our friendly neighborhood Paramount man could help shed some light on the matter?

Captain Kronos should be out 10/21.
same day as Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell, Dragonslayer, and The Keep.

now if only Paramount would release Let's Scare Jessica To Death.

don't forget Burnt Offerings and The Howling SE in Aug.

Paramount, MGM, and Warner are putting out some fine material for this season.
it's a shame Universal is so ass-backwards, but i guess i should thank them for saving me some money.

August and September are both PACKED with great stuff. This is by no means a complete list, only my personal to-buy list:

Targets – 8/12
The Thing (50th Anniversary) – 8/5
The Haunting – 8/5
The Omega Man – 8/5
Soylet Green - 8/5
House of Wax/Mystery of the Wax Museym - 8/5
Wait Until Dark – 8/5
The Devil Commands – 8/26
Comedy of Terrors/The Raven – 8/26
Haunted Palace/Tower of London – 8/26
Tomb of Ligeia/Evening with Edgar Allan Poe - 8/26
The Vampire Lovers/Countess Dracula -- 8/26
The Ghoul (70th Anniversary) – 8/26
The Ghost & Mr. Chicken – September
The Hills Have Eyes – September

... with The Lon Chaney Collection, Beast from 20,000 Fathoms, Valley of Gwangi and The Black Scorpion, among others, all coming in October.

What's left? Plenty of stuff. KONG and all the Val Lewton films (supposedly coming in 2004 from Warner), not to mention all the oop or unreleased Universal classics.

Can't they spread this stuff out? I'll be laying out $500 here!

Man, I hit Best Buy last night, and it hit back, hard. Not only did I get these, but I got Simpsons Season 2 and 3 (on sale and $10 off for buying both) and finally picked up South Park Season 2 with the exclusive pilot dvd.

Man, I'm so @#$%ed.

Yeah, I was debating just ordering from DDD, but I was there man!

They had $5 off coupons on the endcaps, buy any 3 dvds, get $5 off. If it hadn't have been for that, and the $10 off when buying both Simpsons sets, I would have waited.

All said and done, everything was slightly less than DDD, but then slightly more after tax, but we're talkin' cents here.
