Double Indemnity import

I would love to get this DVD, but I cannot seem to find it for under $150, and the transfer isn't so great either, from what I understand.

I was looking around amazon.com, and I noticed that some people are selling an import version for about $30. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it a bootleg or a legitimate release? How is the transfer?

Thanks

The transfer on the OOP one was not that great. I sold mine for $50 because I know a classic movie like this will eventually be re-released.
I would say just be patient and get a VHS copy for $4 if you have to.

2004 will be the 60th Anniversary, so I'm hoping someone will release an Anniversary edition sometime next year, although I have not read of any plans to do so.

you could buy a new u.s. copy for about 50 bucks, right now, on ebay...if you want it bad enough. someone is also selling a "like new" copy and the bid is about 18 bucks. so if you want it......

of course all this talk just made me pull my copy out....now I know what I'm watching tonight...crappy transfer or not.

That movie rocks. I first saw it in my Theater Class back in college in 1991.

The transfer has a lot of dirt and speckling. I have a 27" TV so I probably should comment on the quality, but I sure hoped it would be better for a classic like this one.

I have an unopened copy of this... I have been meaning to get it on E-Bay, but never got around to it.
