New version of "Ginger Snaps"?
From thedigitalbits.com:
We've got some new Fox DVD news too. Speaking of Halloween, the studio is releasing ...Ginger Snaps...
Any info? Is this just going to be the Canadian widescreen version (with extras), a rerelease of the lame US fullscreen version, or something completely different?

Interesting news.... dunno.
My best friend's wife took a business trip to Toronto and the one thing I asked her to get for me was this disc. I cannot recommend this version of the disc enough.

It'd have to pretty damned spectacular to beat the Canadian edition. Might upgrade for a cast commentary, though.
I imagine they're just greasing for the impending prequel and sequel.

Sorry I'm not up to date on this. Can someone fill me in on what the Canadian DVD has that isn't on the US full screen version I have. Obviously having the OAR is preferred but aside from that and extra features, is there diffterent content to the Canadian version of the film? extended scenes? different edits, etc?
thanks

AFAIK, the movie itself is the same on both releases. I could be wrong, though.
For me, having the movie in it's correct OAR was the big selling point. PLUS, the extras are outstanding, the cover is better.... it's just a much better overall presentation of this little gem of a film.

I hate the canadian cover... I MUCH prefer the US release cover:

The canadian cover makes Emily Perkins look like some sort of freak. She was amazing in this film and a GREAT actress.
I might order the canadian and just put my US release cover in the amray over the Canadian cover.
Great flick though--- Any word on the sequels?

I question whether they can re-create the magic of the first one; still, I know I'll see it.
