When did the rights change hands? I had always thought Paramount still owned them.
All the Paramount films up to approx. 1957 now belong to Universal. That's why Universal has the Preston Sturges comedies and The Killers and many of the Hitchcock films that were made at Paramount(although the Hitch's may be more complicated than that because they belonged to his daughter at one point).

In a way, that list pleases me, because there's nothing I even slightly want on it, and I'm buying a lot between now and then.

But the Bertolucci films were made in the '70's, so wouldn't they still belong to Paramount? Paramount released laserdiscs of both, also.

I hope Leap of Faith gets some extras, one of the most underrated movies of the 90's where I stand

Paramount needs to release Hellraiser III on DVD already. WITH an anamorphic transfer and remastered sound.

Good to see somebody else appreciates this movie! Given the responses so far, I was wondering if I was the only one! Steve Martin's performance is first class IMO in this movie, and Leap of Faith has been at the top of my want list for a long, long time. Now Accidental Tourist moves into the top position on that list.

Yes those films would still belong to Paramount.

I was refering to your comment:
I shudder to think of how many great Paramount films from the '30's are yet unreleased.

Agreed. It's time to complete the Hellraiser series on DVD. There are Region 0 versions out there, but they are beyond shi*ty. At least we can count on Paramount for a decent 16x9 transfer. The only thing that troubles me, however, is they have previously released the unrated version on VHS and laserdisc but have a problem these days putting unrated releases on DVD. I hope they understand that most horror or Hellraiser fans aren't going to be very keen on the R-rated version if they screw up and go that route.

I'm all over Regarding Henry. BUt again...they better make a new master because the laserdisc widescreen was positively atrocious. So was the VHS.
