Just the EE. I waited the first time around and I can wait again. If I get too antsy before the EE comes out, I'll just rent the theatrical version from Netflix...

Same as last time.
Will pick up the R2 Japanese release so the wife can watch it with me. Then the extended R1 edition will be mine, all mine, in beautiful DTS-ES surround sound.....(cue maniacle mad scientist laughter)
With the extras different on both gotta get both.

I don't see what is so difficult to grasp in what you said. The so called "bare bones' one will be completely different in film and in extras to the EE. So getting both isn't somehow being cheated or buying the same DVD twice.
Yes, i'm getting both.

1 friend of mine didn't care so he got the regular FoTR. Me, I just got the Extended and will ONLY get extended versions of TTT and RoTK. No point to get both versions (not worth the money for me)

Lucky for me I have a awards screener to hold me over, but I will still buy the regular edition when it comes out. Oscar screeners don't come with bonus materials.

I'll get both simply because I have yet to see it! I want to see the original first, then see what was added and how I feel about it. I missed out on using my free coupon last year because of stupid work, and never got around to seeing it even though I wanted to really badly hehe.
