City Of God?

Does anyone have any idea when the classic independent film City of God will be released on dvd?

Should be later this year, but nobody has exact info at this point. In the future, use a question mark in the title if you don't have any new info. And "City of God" is by no means an independent film.

Maybe i should have said limited release, it definately wan't a major release.

Well, here in Brazil it will be released (rental only) on 6/18.

I remember reading on this or some other forum that the director promised a considerably longer cut on DVD. The above link lists the running time as 130, but there seems to be a commentary track accompanying the movie. We'll see. Hope the extras turn up on the upcoming UK edition.
