Animatrix - CD or No CD?
Hey all.
I'm still on the fence about which set to pick up and am curious about people's thoughts on the music CD.
I'm a fan of electronic music with certain preferences and noticed a few groups of interest, but I'm still not sure if it's worth the extra.
If anyone does respond, could you also compare the tracks to other DJ's/artists that may be well known?
Thanks ...

I picked up the DVD by itself...wasn't aware of the w/ CD option when I picked it up.
Glad I didn't, it would have been yet another useless CD.
I am into electronic music, a lot, but the soundtrack is typical techno crap not interesting or experimental in anyway IMO. But that is me.

I ordered the DVD + CD combo since it was only about a $1 more than the regular at DeepDiscountDVD (which are $19.89 and $18.73, respectively). It's on backorder unfortunately, but I'm in no hurry.

I had to buy it simply because my motto is, "if it's worth buying, it's worth buying the biggest, baddest version of it on the market!" Many peoples' mileages may vary, though, he he. Beyond that, though, in a lot of ways, I may actually prefer the ANIMATRIX CD over the original MATRIX film's soundtrack, since the ANIMATRIX's music leans to a more trance, club/dance-style electronica, as opposed to the MATRIX's mostly industrial goth metal, which was peppered with only sporadic elements of electronica...and hey, either way, it's only $5 more than the regular version at Circuit City this week, so really, is $5 gonna break the bank?
'Course, the CD would be LOADS more worthwhile if it incorporated Don Davis' new score, but this world's far from perfect, ain't it?

It doesn't seem worth it to even pay 5 bucks for most CDs nowadays, unless you really, really love the music (at least try the music first). Buying the DVD gives them plenty of support as it is IMO. btw no offense meant to anyone who bought CD, just my nutty 2 cents.

Oh and one more thing--you know what else makes the Gift Set neater than the standard version? When you look at the title on your DVD shelf, the standard version just says "The Animatrix", while the gift set, with its double-wide spine, seems to scream, "THE ANIMATRIX!!!" He he...you know, it's got that whole "my johnson's bigger than yours" factor...

Quick question, since I haven't seen this one in stores:
Is the DVD+CD 2-disc version still a snapper case?
I'd definitely buy the double-disc version if it didn't come in a stinking snapper case.

So what, it's just the separate packages, but they shrink-wrap them together? Or are the DVD-Snapper and the CD Jewel Box housed in an outer box?
I may not be in any hurry to pick up a snapper. Not when there are other more worthy titles to pick up.
Heck, there are Best Picture winners I haven't picked up yet...

The latter.
