Sneakers CE differences?

Hi guys,

I did a search and couldn't find anything. The re-release thread only mentions a commentary.

Are there any other reasons to upgrade? The original release is already anamorphic. Does the new version have an upgraded transfer? Re-mixed sound?

Thanks!

B

I'm so hype for this release, I can't wait for it to get here from Amazon. That being said, I get the feeling the audio/video transfer will be the same as the previous release. Just call it a hunch.

I always liked this movie but I don't see any reason to upgrade. I'll stick with the original for now.

Where are you guys seeing this additional info? Amazon isn't listing any of the extras you guys are. help would be vital.

This is straight off the back of the case:

Bonus Features:
1. Feature commentary with writer/director Phil Alden Robinson
2. The making of Sneakers
3. Theatrical Trailer

The Commentary is actually with all three writers (including the director).

The Making of Sneakers is 40 minutes.

Damn, I figured it would be a real short featurette.

Picked this up tonight for 9.99 at Best Buy, can't go wrong with that price.

Anybody have a chance to compare if the transfers are the same? IIRC, the original transfer wasn't reference material, but it wasn't bad. And even if they re-mixed the sound, the whole movie is dialogue-driven, so what would be the point?

Oh well, thanks for the responses!

The commentary is good, but the new print is even more of a reason to upgrade. That, and the fact it's $9.99 at Best Buy.

I'd really recommend this one.

Thanks MikeM! Nice to know they did upgrade the transfer. I'll be picking this up now.
