I've been having good luck of late. no glitches have been turning up on new discs until just now. with this dvd, I freeze up and sputter around chap 8...cant make it through the film. I've tried it on my new and old sony players, dvd-rom and the x-box. all 4 players find a problem. disc is new and in perfect looking shape. cleaned all players...and tried it again. a disc problem I do believe. has anyone else had a problem? if not....might just be a rare blunder. I'll be taking it back in tomorrow. damn, the film was getting good!!! and it's the domestic u.s. disc...the canadian wont get here until next week.

I watched a rental last night with no problems.

I haven't watched my copy of The Pianist yet, but this is exactly what happened with my copy of the Windtalkers SE. I replaced it, and the new copy works fine. I also had the same problem with my first copy of S1m0ne, but not so bad. The replacement worked fine on that one too. I wonder what makes these disks do this.
