Hey Michael.

Congrats on the marriage & welcome back.

Question -- got any poster art for the Love Bug or 20,000 Leagues?

Michael Corvin 05-28-03 01:42 AM

nope. Sorry.

Scaramanga 05-28-03 03:18 AM

It looks supercalifragilisticexpialidocious ! :-p

Looking forward to the new covers ...

Disc-Flipper 05-28-03 12:59 PM

Were you doing that fantastic Muppet Movie cover before?

DarthVong 05-28-03 04:55 PM

It's about frikken time

JJE-187 05-28-03 05:23 PM

Where's The Toad?

Randy810 05-28-03 08:38 PM

Love the Toad and Icabad. I can't wait to download it, when will it be available?

Welcome back you were missed!!!

EBChamorro 05-29-03 09:15 AM

You can also see the toad in the clip with the
run away horse. He is very small and he looks
like he is being thrown up out of his carriage seat.

EBChamorro 05-29-03 09:18 AM

I sent new screen captures of another disney dvd.

Perhaps he will use them in his next cover?
Good to see he is back.

Bobban 05-30-03 05:37 PM

damn.. fast work now ;) black cauldron looks amazing.

I doubt that it has the resolution that you need but i thought i'd give it a try anyway.

Also, i know of this site that usually has screenshots for disney movies. Maybe this can be of help to you...Aristocats Screenshots

Scaramanga 05-31-03 01:32 AM

Just tell me what you would like on the screencaps from Aristocats and i'll make em ...

Scaramanga 05-31-03 03:03 AM

Ok will post them in this article ...

Click the picture to d/l them at full size (720 x 576)

Covers look great, I do have 2 suggestions though, why not make the color of the Aristocats title on the spine black to match the actual poster (i've noticed you have done that with every other cover)
& I think a darker background color for The Black Cauldron would look better than white.

No ... no darker back for The Black Cauldron ... it looks fine the way it is ... costs way too much ink otherwise too ... :)

That is how the original poster is for TBC. The white border contained the tagline at the top and credits below.

I changed aristocats on the spine b/c black was too drab. I believe the spine of Lilo & Stitch is a different color than the front as well.

Thanks for the screen grabs. It will be a day or two before I get to it though.

Take your time ;-) ... an artist like yourself shouldn't rush ...

Lilo & Stitch idd also has a different spine color ... like you said the black just doesn't look too well on a spine :)

DarthVong 05-31-03 10:20 PM

Excellent as always Michael! I'll upload them to the site as soon as they are done...

Off-Topic: Have you finished the NJO book yet? Curious as to what you though about it?

JoeyOhhhh 05-31-03 11:05 PM

Love the Toad!

I would prefer a better shot of Toad on the back, but then again I'm a Toad Fanatic.

Scaramanga 06-05-03 08:33 AM

Which version of Winrar do you use ? If you want to I can zip them and mail them to you / post them in zip format ?

Anyway you can d/l it here : http://www.roderidder.be/Aristocats.zip

Scaramanga 06-05-03 09:43 AM

Oh yes I forgot ... the domain name is still too new ...

Try this : http://users.skynet.be/karjalainen/Aristocats.zip

If that still doesn't wanna open, go to this webpage : http://users.skynet.be/karjalainen/A...creenshots.htm

to view and save all the screenshots ...

Have you seen this cover MC?

I had to d/l to leave a comment, what's up with that? That is new.

Read the discussion about chickengas on the DVDCoverart forum and you'll fin out ... basically it comes down to this : this person only gave very negative comments on any cover ... no matter how good they were. Also he didn't explain why he didn't like the covers at all ... since he also voted them at 5 or less this left us with a not so desirable situation ... therefore this new thingy was realised so you have at least seen the cover before you judge it on the small preview picture ...

Yep ... and that is one real contradiction I think ... I couldn't name one of your covers I would rate low ... true some aren't my style ... but they just are proffesionial and top-notch quality ... so I see no reason to give them a low rating ... what I hate the most is when they vote low but don't explain themselves why ...

Michael Corvin 06-10-03 12:11 PM

I appreciate honesty and all feedback. Some of which I incorporate into the work. That is why I hated the low votes and no feedback.

Anyway, just uploaded Aristocats. I am in need of some lyrics for Make Mine Music before I can upload that one. I can't locate any on the web, and this is a title I down' own, so I can't pop it in myself to see. Any help guys and gals?

I am basically done with Three Caballeros. I am having trouble with the front poster though. It is a long skinnny poster, not the standard size. Maybe I will upload later for some feedback on what to do.

This is a good idea, except that I can't downlaod covers. I always gave at least an 8 to anyone who did a great custom (a 10 for the Disney Covers & almost anything Darth does) At least I can e-mail the author & tell him my comments.

also, I e-mailed the guy who's doing the Dreamworks covers & gave him a few suggestion (changing the template color, changing "widesceen" to "animation" & a few other small things)

I saw that Custom Dreamworks cover, and I don't like. Its too much like the Disney Customs.

Lol I don't think it is ... okay the cover has a rounded rectangle cut-out ... and the background is also grey .... but that is where it ends .... my highlander covers would fit the same description ... but still they are completely different ...

Anyway I'm planning on doing a dreamworks cover series myself ... and believe me it won't be like these covers at all ...

Bobban 06-10-03 01:10 PM

So Michael whats next on the list?

I'm still waiting for The Rescuers, Oliver & Company and Sleeping Beauty ... but that last one won't be for anyday soon I guess since it hasn't been released in R1 yet ... so I guess I'll have to stand my R2 cover for a bit longer then ...

At least now you can approve your own covers....;)

Michael Corvin 06-10-03 09:01 PM

And typos. :)

Michael Corvin 06-10-03 10:43 PM

The Rescuers!

EBChamorro 06-11-03 09:08 AM

One idea about the lyrics for Make Mine Music.
There are programs that can "rip" subtitles.
First you have to "rip" the vob file to your hard drive
and then scan the vob files. The subtitles are really
graphics, but the programs "learn" the picture of an "E"
and then places an "E" text in a text file.
I don't have the hard disc space to do the rip.
Someone may "rip" all of the subtitles and then pass
the text file onto MC.

Here are some links to look into;

http://www.weethet.nl/english/video_ripsubtitles.php

http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/ar...ith_subrip.cfm

Michael Corvin 06-11-03 11:50 AM

I don't own the dvd to rip the subtitles from. Thanks though.

EBChamorro 06-11-03 12:04 PM

I was thinking that someone else may take up
the gaunlet and rip the subtitles.
