aspect ratio question

hi,im thinking of buying a dvd from a web site, but the description given of the dvd's aspect ratio is '2.35 Wide Screen\16:9 Anamorphic Wide Screen' is that correct? can a dvd be 2 different aspect ratios?although the description also says that there are 3 copies of the dvd in stock.sorry if this is a stupid question but im not very technically minded.also which aspect ratio is best(i use my computers monitor to view dvds mostly).

The aspect ratio is 2.35:1. 16:9 Anamorphic WS just means that it's anamorphic, most dvds are nowadays but there are some that are not. You should have no problem viewing it on your computer.

Welcome to the forum, johnh!

Suggestion: check out this thread which answers many questions asked by people relatively new to DVDs (including the one you asked)- I think you'll find it a big help:
