They are only doing the exchange AFAIK for now, probably be 2 years from now when you might find them in stores if ever. I see them just doing the exchange program since not much of the average joe knows the framing problem.

Naah, as much as I respect your reply, I find that very difficult to believe. Jurassic Park, Leon, Tarzan, et. al. all had fixes on the market relatively soon. I believe the same goes for this title. The question is when and where to buy from?

I won't be buying it until I can buy the fixed version in a store (since I can't trust an etailer to send me the right one).

I've waited this long. I can wait longer. There are a lot of great titles to buy instead.

Just checked Best Buy today for you guys and no luck yet. I will keep my eye out for them. I am visiting about 8 stores tomorrow so I will check those. I will let you know if I find any.

I still have not found it at a B&M or have heard about an etailer selling it.

Since its been a month since the last reply, I am going to send this thread back to the top.

Any sightings?

Funny that you bumped this. I was at a Best Buy yesterday and saw a few of these on the shelf. On a whim, I checked but they were still the original ones. I just recently sent my discs in.

I think you're going to find that it will be some time, if ever, before you see V2 in any stores. When you call the replacement number, they emphasize that they want you to understand that there is no defect in the discs or the movie, and that they are doing this as a courtesy for their customers.

I really wish they would break up the box sets and sell them seperately. 2 and 3 sucked ass.

When I see "To be continued" I can pretend that they continue in my head or something.

Everytime I'm in Best Buy or Media Play, I check for V2. No luck so far. I think I am about ready to just send them in.

After about four weeks of waiting, I recieved my replacement dics in the mail today, both individually wrapped in their own jewel case.

I just thought I'd say, that's all.

I waited about three weeks to get mine. They arrived the same way BrentLumkin described. Very nice touch: the jewel cases and a big box with adequate packing.

To the people STILL waiting to purchase the V2 versions in a B&M, simply buy the old version, call the number and get the replacements sent in a month or less. You could be waiting...and waiting...and waiting...until you happen to find the V2 versions in stores. Makes more sense to simply get it now, doesn't it?

Yeah, you don't even have to pay for shipping...they'll send you a prepaid mailer. Why wait?

Do you have to provide any proof of purchase for the exchange (other than sending in the misframed discs, obviously)? If I pick this up used, can I send in the second and third discs for exchange without a hassle?

All you do is call the phone # and give them your mailing info and they send you a return postage paid envelope. You have to provide them with the 2 discs and reason why you are exchanging them (improper framing). That's it.

Even though I don't agree with you hating the last 2 movies, (I love all three) Back to the Future 1 does not have the "To be continued" on it anymore. I guess because the original release in the theater didn't say it. I can't remember if it did or not, I was only 9 when it came out in theaters.

Hmm, that might be true. Maybe they inserted it for the home release?

Anyway, hate is too strong a word regarding these movies. They just weren't as good as the first. Thank God it only went to 3 since it looked like they were running out of ideas.

The studio is holding off the street release of V2 until 9/2/2003. "Pre-Order" set for 7/28/2003. Looks like they are allowing retailers to sell the V1 until 7/25/2003....

Aw man!! I've been waiting for BTTF on DVD for years. I'm waiting on buying the set until I can get V2. Now, gotta wait a few more months.

Oh well, make a nice B-day present for me.

Hmmm, I wonder if any retailers will drop the price near 7/25 to clear them out?
