Ahh!! Need Money!
AH! I'm going out of my wits end. WAY to many dvds, WAY to many video games, WAY to many movies, WAY to many concerts. WAY too little money
25th hour
cky box set
how the west was one zepplin dvd
all the summer movies
etc etc etc.
Man I need some money big time. Too bad im broke
Whats your best way to make some quick cash to put towards dvds?
(besides a job of couse, which im looking for now)
I would rather not have to whore myself to get the led zepplin dvd if at all possible

I buy most of mine used for $9 - $10. The only new ones I buy are with GC's I get for presents. Anything I decide is not a keeper I just trade back in for credit and the difference was no more than a rental and there was no late fee.

The first thing that leaps to mind is to just skip "all the summer movies". Maybe we just have radically different taste -- although we're both Zeppelin fans -- but I haven't seen much coming out recently (or in the near future) that's worth shelling out for...
Take the money that you planned to use for 1-time theatrical viewings and use it to purchase titles you're lusting after. Much better use of your (apparently) limited funds.
If you happen to miss an entertaining blockbuster, just catch it on DVD 6 months from now...

I've noticed that the summer months are generally a pretty dead time for DVD, unless there are catalog releases or killer price drops/sales. This is probably due to the weak movies that are most of the time released in the first quarter. If there's gonna be a BIG release or series of big releases they come around the time of the fourth quarter for the holidays (LOTR, BTTF last year, Godfather the year before, Indy this year). Also, it makes sense that summer movies find their release around this time just because of the natural release schedule.
With that said, even w/ the deals that are guaranteed this summer, I won't have much money as I'm gonna be in class so much there's no time for a job...oh, well.
For this problem, I'm gonna solve it by CHing after the summer when I have some steady income.

You probably won't agree with this, but here's what I'd do:
1. Skip the movies. Saving $10 is like getting $10 off when you buy the DVD.
2. Skip the concerts - or be VERY selective. Simply because they're just too darn expensive, and not good value for the money.
3. Get rid of the video game machine.

Here's a few tips.
Movies: Go to a matinee, and don't buy refreshings at the theater. Bring a soda and some candy from home.
Video games: Rent the ones that you think can be beaten within the rental period. Sell back old games don't play anymore, and for the must have titles, either wait for pre-owned or
DVD's: Cutting back on DVD's? ARE YOU MAD??? seriously though...I say wait a couple weeks after it's released, then check Half.com or eBay. You'll be surprised just how much you can save, even on sealed items.
P.S. Thanks for reminding me about November Rypro 525. YIKES!

if no job, how can you afford a concert and trips to the theater? whatever your age is...you should be working. tons of jobs. throw pride out the window and work your ass off, regardless of the job title. you can get your dream job later, so build up your cash and credit, and then budget for a hobby like dvds. you already know this anyway, and only you can control the outcome. all these tips you are getting from posters are sweet as candy and everything, but if you are going to shows and havin' a great time...without a job and income....good luck.

Justin, listen to your friends.
NEED to see summer films? Get a job at a movie theater. Worked for me, and they're always taking on new people in summer.

Short on money but long on DVD watching? My friend joined NetFlix and loves it. $20/month and he seems to watch a different movie every other night. It takes 2 days for the discs to arrive.
Either that or sell your spleen. What's the heck's a spleen? Weird name, so why have it in your body....
