New 'Galaxy Quest' ?

Thedigitalbits has 'Galaxy Quest' listed for release on Aug. 12. Anyone hear anything about a new release for this movie? Extras? The original (2000) release had deleted scenes and other extras and was a satisfying edition.

Re-priced to 14.98 so I guess it should be like 9.99 in stores! Time for me to finally pick it up.

This is a great DVD. For those who don't have it, I would suggest picking it up after the price drop.

Great fun, one you'll watch many times - whenever you want to smile.

This is one of the first DVDs I bought. A fun movie. I just hope they don't screw up and make a sequel.....

DEfinately worth picking up as it';s really a darn good movie. I don't blame you for being suspicious though as a price drop usually means a SE is expected. But really, exept for commentaries, this release already has about every feature you'd want. And even some you won't (alien language track).

I agree with the pro-Galaxy Quest posts. If you are familiar with the Star Trek culture, you will love this movie.

It's a great movie & disc, but I've always been disappointed that it didn't include the Sci Fi channel special where they stayed in character & treated it as sort of a look-back reunion show. I'd love to see that again.

Great deal at $9.99.

This is one of the 1st DVD I bought.

Myself, My family and my friends have really enjoyed watching this film.

The extras get a "B" grade.

Well, I was going to refer you to this site: http://www.fresnosdvdconnection.com/reissues.html for a comparison, but it seems to be screwed up at the moment.

I'd recommend the non-DTS version, because the DTS version is barebones, I believe. Depending on your home theater setup, and how much you value DTS versus extras, it is up to you. Personally, even if I had a great home theater system, I'd probably pick the non-DTS version because it's a comedy, and I don't necessarily need a perfect A/V presentation to enjoy a comedy. Also, if you absolutely had to have the best of both worlds, you could always buy them both from Columbia House for cheap (see the DVD clubs forum for more info).

DD and DTS (which I used to have) versions are identical, so you don't lose anything.

Not true....I'd love to see them back in action again! I bet there are at least a dozen stories waiting the crew of the NSEA Protector to solve...
