Is there a USA version of HERO out yet?

Is there one yet, or an ETA?

Yeah, I was wondering about this as well...I haven't seen it, but I've read nothing but good things about it. I'd be interested to know more...

It's a very good artistly done movie with great sword battles. Saw the Asian import and now want to get a copy for myself.

The movie's not suppose to come out theatrically until November, so a US DVD release is still a ways off. Just go ahead and get the DTS DVD version off of eBay or other import stores. It's NICE!!!!!

The DTS version isn't the extended director's cut which has been delayed frequently during the last few months. That's the only thing holding me back from picking it up.

I usually don't think twice about DTS since I live for that ish, but an extended director's cut sounds intriguing. Plus, discussions of the movie have revealed that extended, reintegrated scenes largely help flesh out the movie and make it more coherent than the stripped down version currently on DVD. People are calling it a masterpiece as it is, and even better in it's entirety. I've been monitoring the International forum, and amd growing weary of the multiple delays on the extended disc. There's a chance that it may be a 2 disc-er with DTS, so i'm crossing my fingers.

The dc probably won't come out for a while since Harvey is afraid that the dc will take money away from the us release in november.

Also the dts track probably won't make the miramax dvd, and have "simplified" subtitles

You can get the R0 NTSC DD 5.1 version here:

http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID....qx/details.htm

2 disc vcd (which is what I have and it is very good quality)

http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID....qx/details.htm

R0 NTSC DTS version (this is new)
http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID....qx/details.htm

HK 2 disk set Region 3 (heard great things about this set, I think the extras are subbed too)

http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID....qx/details.htm

The vcd is good enough quality for me that I'll wait for the DC to come out (which I think this movie needs), though if I would have known that the Chinese version was region free I'd have bought that instead.

I've been wondering about that. I've been holding off because I'd rather see it as intended. Plus, it's supposed to fix all the problems some critics have had with the film--namely, not enough character time in the butchered version.

Yes...at the moment the R3 Edko edition is the way to go if you are lucky enough to be region free.

The 2-disc R3 set (which has an excellent DTS track and great 16x9 transfer) unfortunatly only has the interviews subbed... All the other extras aren't. But, it's still well worth it. I picked mine up for like $14 shipped...
