The official "Does this movie come with an insert" thread"

So you want to know if your new/used dvd was supposed to come with an insert. Post it here. Someone will be glad to reply.

Would you like a replacement insert? Check here. You can download and print out a new one. If you can't find it there go to DVDTalk's own DVDTalk Covers & Cases forum. Post a thread of what you need. There are many talented people there that may be able and willing to help you out.

Hope this alleviates some of the threads that pop up every day asking basically the same question over and over. (i.e. was my Wallace & Gromit DVD supposed to have an insert?)

Good idea, especially since Disney & Universal have supposedly dropped inserts, we'll be seeing a thread for each of their titles every week from now on.

If its a one page thing with chapter listings they can keep the inserts. The booklets with good info like the ones Criterion produces are the only ones that interest me.

I'm still shocked at how many people care about inserts, especially in $10 DVDs like the MGM ones.

This thread is a great idea. Since the majority of movies do have an insert, it would be nice to have a comprehensive list of movies that do not. If anyone has a start on one I'd love to see it.

Brotherhood of the Wolf - canadian - single disc: Assuming this should not have had an insert as my new copy did not have one.

I also have a number of duplicate inserts but need others. If anyone has some they'd like to swap, I'm open to offers.

Thanks for the thread! And I actually have a question . . .

Did "Knockaround Guys" come with an insert? TIA!

(And no, I never started, or would have started, one of those insert question threads just for this! )

Just noticed Emperor's Club didn't have an insert. This is a universal title. I didn't know they were doing away with inserts... I have serveral MGM titles and Lions Gate titles without inserts.

A new one to add:

Atlantis: Milo's Return

It has six stickers inside for Jungle Book 2, but no true insert.

I did not have one either. I beleive this dvd was produced/distributed by Buena Vista Home Entertainment (disney) and therefore the lack of an insert is perhaps a reflection of there no more inserts policy.

Mine did and it's awesome!!!

It's a 32 page booklet that outlines the making of the film starting with it's inception, to it's script, to casting, the production and finally it's impact when it was released. It's chock-full of photos from the set and all sorts of location shots. It has interviews with the entire cast and crew among essays from noted film scholars discussing the film's significance.

I'm joking - it's only a one-sheet with the cover on one side and chapters on the other. You're not missing anything.

Considering the others do, I'm pretty sure Kiki's Delivery Service should have an insert, but I just want to check.

The Rescuers doesn't have one. They should at least put the chapters on the back if there's no insert. It makes it easier to find my son's favorite scenes, especially if it's in the car & the screen is behind me.

To answer two of the questions:

Kiki's Delivery Service-Yes, an insert.
Knockaround Guys-Yes, it came with one (Has a picture of Vin Diesel with two handguns; pretty cool-looking).

Others:

25th Hour-No.
God Said Ha!-No.
Equilibrium-No.
Adaptation-It comes in a clear case and on the back of the coverart, it has a picture of the two Nicolas Cages and it lists the chapter stops. Pretty neat! It also comes with a message from Bob to Claire (a little insert...and that is the only one).

It looks like the new Miramax titles don't have them...

i'm glad this thread is working out. Let me add that I have an extra "The Rookie" insert if anyone needs one(bought used or something like that). Mine came with two.

I'll add The Hot Chick, as not having an insert as well. Actually, the "insert" ifyou want to call it that was a white piece of paper with a white sticker (square in shape) at the bottom of this piece of paper.
