Wow, to think that several years ago I didn't have any DVD players. Now I have:
1 Thinkpad
1 Compaq
1 DVD drive
1 Malata 520
1 Apex 600A
1 Panny RP-82
1 JVC XVS-600
1 PS2
for a total of 8. feels like a lot less since i have a few DVDs that only play well with Malata

I have 3: my first, a Pioneer, worked well for just over two years then began malfunctioning leading to ->
my 2nd, a Samsung that malfunctioned right out of the box (skips when playing CDs, HUGE pixelation problems on 10-20% of all DVDs), shipped it to manufacturer for repair but didn't want to go without a player for several weeks so ->
my 3rd, a JVC, paid $99 and it's a total POS, shuts itself off or ejects DVDs regularly so I pitched it into the corner when I got the Samsung back.
After paying $20+ to ship the Samsung in, they found no problems so cleaned it and sent it back. It still sucks.

Where to sell dvd player ?
Though not directly related to this thread , I thought I may get my answer here. I have one Panasonic 5 disc DVD-CV52 changer and one JVC XV-523GD dvd player. I live in Los Angeles. Do any one of you know a store which buys DVD players ? Where can I get the best value for these ? I am wanting to buy all region dvd player hence selling these.
Thanx in advance.

3: Pioneer DVD-ROM, Panasonic RV32, Xbox.
I sold my old Panny RV30 for $80, missed it, then bought the RV32 for $55. The Xbox doesn't play Region 0 imports and DTS-encoded CDs.

Hmm... never really added them all up, lessee...
1) Philips 825 (living room)
2) Philips 815 (bedroom)
3) LaSonic (spare - got free with my cell phone)
4) PC - Pioneer 105S (theater)
5) PC - HP 300i DVD+RW (office)
6) PC - Toshiba (office)
7) Laptop - DVD/CD-RW (on road)
8) PS2 (never used it although I have the remote thingie)
My PC's get the most use, the Pioneer 105s in my theater room being the oft-used.
