what to do when security stickers are stuck to the cover?
You've probably had this happen: you open a sealed DVD in a keepcase, only to see that the security sticker is stuck directly to the DVD cover, which for whatever reason has slipped out from under the clear sleeve. I've had this happen a few times and have been unable to remove the security sticker without tearing the cover no matter how much care I use in doing so.
Is there any way to remove the sticker without damaging the cover in this case?

It's always too late before I notice I've ripped off part of the cover. I should look first, but it's true, what would you do even if you saw the cover protruding into the sticker? Not much I would imagine, other than returning it before opening and looking for an unstuck one.

I got a first the other day. The security tab on the inside was actually partly stuck to the disc itself. It left some schmutz but the disc seemed to play find. Can't say I've seen that happen before.

Too bad your not on the complete junk mail list like I am, there are a number of companies selling a liquid to remove postage stamps or just anything else without ripping any covers. Do a search on that, I throw so many out I only keep the ones valuable to me. It comes in a roll on bottle and it neutralizes the glue for you to lift it off safely.
P.S. Now if I could only get the guy who thru www.pinstruck.com to stop mailing me voodoo curses. I am ROTFLMAO every time the poor jerk sends me one, usally about every other week.
He's still pissed off I got him thrown in the slammer for sending forged fax's to my cities finest 2 days in a row at 2:30AM. The finest (police) 'had it' and sent some info the guys city and he was in the slammer with revenge on his mind. Man that was 5 years ago and he is still sending me voodoo curses, he doesn't seem to be running on all cylinders either.
I might be a lousy writer, but I am running on all cylinders. I gave you the URL if you don't believe you can send voodoo curses via e-mail, you gotta believe it's Saturday night.

Why couldn't you return it, even if it's been opened? As long as you are doing an even exchange with the same movie, what's the problem? I just did an exchange for a bad insert (which was actually my fault in the end, but that's a long story) for the Criterion Collection version of Straw Dogs and got no static at all (from Best Buy.) I just said I had a problem with the DVD and they let me exchange it, no other questions asked.

Actually WD-40 works as well or better than anything else.
