It's clearly a bootleg, but Criterion did release From Russia With Love on laserdisc (along with Dr. No and Goldfinger). Additionally, all 3 of those releases had commentary tracks on their original CAV releases, which were later recalled after complaints by Danjaq. Although the description doesn't say so, this bootleg may contain the commentary track from the recalled CAV LD.

DANG that's funny. (But I thought bootlegs were illegal and not allowed on ebay?) Anyone dumb enough to bid on that without checking Criterion first deserves what they get...

Check out the cover on his 'Goldeneye' DVD in one of his other auctions.

What a bootlegger. Let's take him down.

He's probably unloading some of the crap he's been binge-buying since December. Stuff like this:

I think I missed that release.

Yup, that's it.

Here's his purchase of the "Criterion" Goldfinger:

Of the laserdiscs, that were released by Criterion, who did the commentaries on them? Were these scene specific commentaries or not?

Thanks

It would be great to hear some of the commentaries on them Criterion LD's without buying a LD player and hunting the LD's down. I really want to hear the Scorsese commentaries on Taxi Driver and Raging Bull but I probably never will.

The Bond superbits crack me up! I have seen Blade II Superbit as well as a Eye See You Superbit.... why on earth even make up a superbit for Eye See You is what really needs to be questioned!

From Russia With Love: Director Terence Young, writer Richard Maibaum, editor Peter Hunt.

Goldfinger: Director Guy Hamilton, writer Richard Maibaum, editor Peter Hunt, production designer Ken Adam.

Both narrated by Jay Rubin.

My LDs got somewhat mixed up and I don't have time now to find my Dr. No.

EBAY SNEBAY

I just sent a e-mail to eBay, with some interesting news that I informed the buyer what was selling was a bootleg.

The seller on his own cancelled my big bid of $35 for he now *knew* what he was selling. Sold it yesterday for $20 to some jerk that didn't write the seller with important questions like I did to obtain his e-mail, wich I bounced for a x mail trace for eBay or for the Feds.

I gave them 5 days to carry out their policy or I would then send both e-mails from the sender and mine, to give this guy some place to cool off or heat up. Let's see what eBay does or doesn't do.

I intend to send all info to Feds, either for fraudulent selling of video or allowing someone to do it. I wrote it as clearly as I could Let's see what happens

I have and can make faxsimile copies of my DD-215 Honourable Discharge from U.S. Navy and I have never committed a crime in all 50 states, I asked them who would the feds believe you (eBay) or me.

They were not screen-specific. They were edited together with participation from a number of different people who had worked on the films.

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
Ebay doesn't care about bootlegs. I bought what was supposed to be a legit "Seven Samurai: CC" from a seller and received a bootleg (with DVD-9 seals and DTS logos on it).

Ebay has done nothing. And since the seller was Canadian, the US gov't hasn't really seemed interested.

I do have the guy's address, though. Next time I'm in BC I'll probably pay him a visit to get my $25 back.
