Do you own The Matrix?
 

I'm curious how many people here own it. Any version of it. Think this will give an idea of how well the BO take will be.

First DVD I ever bought.

I'm watching it on FOX right now, can't wait to get this on DVD!!!!

I picked my copy up late last year, yes I know I was behind the times with that purchase :p

2nd DVD I bought.

You're going to estimate the sequel's box office based on how many people on THIS FORUM own it? This is the lunatic fringe. Not a very scientific poll.

I had it, but then I watched it and didn't really care for it, so I sold it on eBay. :)

Look, just tell me which version I need to get, and I'll get it.

I'm not opposed to owning it; just haven't gotten around to buying it yet (saw it in the theater). Maybe I'll wait till all 3 are in a box set or something.

Just picked up the DVD two pack to get the free ticket...

The Matrix was the "killer app" of DVD - it's the film a lot of people bought DVD players to watch.

So we can thank The Matrix DVD for helping to speed the public consumption of DVD technology.

Now more DVDs are coming out in Pan and Scan, with crappy features and prices are going up.

it was around the 100th dvd for me...I guess. I only remember the first few anyway...like Bladerunner 1st, The Thing 2nd....and Scarface 3rd. I still wont go see the new Matrix in the theater. cant wait for the dvd though. of course I still have it, right now I get rid of nothing.

Just got it on a whim this week: $11.99 at Best Buy + free movie cash was a deal I couldn't pass up when I saw it in the store.

No, but I have been able to take my brother-in-law's copy (one of his first purchases) for extended periods of time whenever the urge to watch it hits me.

I have watched it over 100 times, I just finished watching "Mission To Mars" for the 100+ time. I'm addicted lets face it,
I hope I never 'kick' this addition.:)

I answered no because I didn't like it. But my wife just ordered a copy a few days ago, so it'll be sitting in the collection soon anyway.

I bought it to test my player and spun it again last week. I have a person lined up to buy it, but I'll probably watch it again before I let it go. If I like the next two, I'll pick up the box set we all know will come out.

Bought it used for $10 about a month after I bought a player...

I had my Matrix DVD about a month before I even had my first player.

Got it as a CH enrollment. Worth every penny.

Yep. I own it. Before I got a player too. It was lucky number thirteen, but the first DVD I watched when I got my player was "Halloween."

Wow. I just realized. In my first thirteen, I have two OOP Criterions (and one other) and the OOP "Halloween." Cool.

I heard that the Matrix was a cool movie, but I don't know. I haven't seen it and I'm not sure if I ever will.

I voted for the second option. I sold it before I was REAL big into dvds, about 2 1/2 years ago. I wish I still had it because now I have an awesome HT set-up and would like to see it on there. I will however be buying the inevitable boxset, if I can hold out long enough on the second two movies.

Bought the R1 when it came out (late '99) then sold it later on. Now recently picked the R2 from Sale, so yes, i own it (again) LOL

I don't own this now but I'm waiting for the Matrix trilogy boxset when ever that gets released.

I am waiting for "Reloaded" and "Revolutions" to come out on DVD so it can be released to a boxset, that's why I'm not buying the first Matrix dvd.

Exactly my thoughts on the matter, although i'm debating whether to pick up 'The Animatrix' or take a chance on this ever appearing with the rest in an Ultimate boxset of some sort?!
