Yup.. I also own the Matrix.. but doesn't the Matrix own YOU!

SirPablo 05-11-03 07:32 PM

LOL...I can't believe this thread is still around. You guys crack me up.

And yes, this is a scientific poll. Roughly 75% of you people own it, therefore, expect $150 mil opening weekend. Again, these are scientific results.

Voila! I give you... The Matrix!

And this is somehow seen as...a bad thing? I don't get it. -confused-

Heh, of course I've got it. It wasn't my first purchase, it wasn't even my 100th purchase, but I have it. In fact I watched it Thursday to get pysched up. :D

GuessWho 05-12-03 08:07 AM

No. Hated the movie.

TK-421 05-12-03 08:35 AM

Sold my copy thinking the SE was coming out this year... ah well, I'll just wait for the box set.

Soltan 05-12-03 09:33 AM

It was the 1st DVD that I bought. Little did I know at the time how addictive this could be. heh

No, no and no. I will never have the movie that destroyed the hollywood action movie in my collection. If someone were to give it to me for free, I'd burn it.

Anyway, why would I want a warmed over kung fu crap-fest when I've got a wide assortment of HK films at my disposal? I'd watch Shaolin Soccer a thousand times before I ever considered putting on this turd.

BuckeyeDawg 05-12-03 10:22 AM

Never have owned it. Figured I'll buy the trilogy.

sol4real 05-12-03 10:25 AM

Cool movie!! Own the DVD. Will be in line to get reloaded later this week!

DVD.guy 05-12-03 10:29 AM

F For Fake 05-12-03 11:01 AM

No. Saw it, didn't like it, won't be buying it or seeing the sequels.

Kazuma05 05-12-03 11:12 AM

one of my first ch enrollments, loved it going to see reloaded this week

sn9ke_eyes 05-12-03 02:23 PM

It was the second dvd I bought, and a major influence on my decision to buy a dvd player at that time instead of waiting.

devilshalo 05-12-03 02:57 PM

Thanks to Reel.com.. it was my first purchase. $4.98 I believe. :)

Groucho 05-12-03 03:03 PM

No, my wife and her friends went and saw this movie when it was in theaters as a "girl's night out." NONE of them liked it, so I haven't bothered.

Pants 05-12-03 03:12 PM

I don't own it. I rented it once, but it's not good enough to be worth owning.

That's like asking a bunch of girls if they enjoyed Pulp Fiction or Fight Club.....

I didn't know my wife when Pulp Fiction came out, so I've seen that. Her group didn't like Fight Club either, so I passed on that one. I prefer to hear the thoughts of actual audience members rather than some snooty critic.

cgise22 05-12-03 03:36 PM

It was one of my first DVDs.

teddydogg 05-12-03 03:38 PM

Was one of the first gifts I got at Christmas 2000 along with my dvd player! :D

My actual point was that you were using the reaction of a female audience to a film aimed more at a male crowd.

Your wife probably wouldn't avoid a chick flick just because you and a few of your buddies gave it the thumbs down. :D

BT 05-12-03 05:37 PM

2nd DVD I ever owned.

shill66 05-12-03 07:29 PM

My own wife loves The Matrix. I'm the one who thinks it's somewhere between average and not-very-good. And alas, we own a copy now, as of Saturday.

GuruAskew 05-12-03 08:21 PM

Either way, you're letting someone else decide for you, which is never a good idea. It may be a good indicator but you should never totally write a movie off based on anything someone else says, because everyone has different opinions.
