Help. Will a Region 4 DVD work in the US?

I really want to buy three Ali G DVDs that are being sold on Ebay by an australia seller. They are listed as Region 4 DVDs. Will these work on my US machine (Region 1)?

Thanks for your help.

You need a region free player and a Pal to NTSC converter (or a player that does it).

Harosa is correct they must say R4 on the box. This probably the reason they are selling it!

You're actually asking if Region 4 discs can work in a Region 1 player? Not to be rude but check out the back of any dvd or the manual for your dvd player.

This is why I prefer HTPC. Just pop the disc into your PC and you don't have to worry about PAL and NTSC.

It'll work fine on a PC!

But Ali G sucks anyway!

Or you could just buy a region free/NTSC/PAL player for $60 (Cyberhome 500 among others) and be ready for anything from any region, PAL or NTSC.

Wallace, I'd suggest you ask about ways to view foreign discs in the International Forum.

Get a region-free player! Be one of us! One of us! One of us!
