Karate KID

I heard that Karate Kid was Super 35, but when you go to imdb.com it does not list it as being shot like that.

There are a number of mistakes on that site. Although I'd assume this 1984 film it was not Super 35.

Spherical means that the lenses are round. This is as opposed to anamorphic lenses, which are oval. Anamorphic lenses are typically used to shoot 2.35:1 films, also known as scope films. Super35 uses spherical lenses and that process can be used for 2.35:1, as well.

Actually, if this relates to whether or not the DVD is good enough as it is (full frame), then it belongs in DVD Talk.

I've always avoided the Karate Kid dvd - as I think it is pan/scan, but I've never heard a definitive answer.
