I hate it when the names listed on the cover don't match up with the face that's behind it.

It is a little better, I dont know, I dont care for the giant heads, but I like the fight scene at the bottom better than the NY scene

At least with the old one, Leo's matched up. Now none of them do.

I much prefer the earlier design.
Of course, since I'm not buying this, I guess it doesn't matter.

This is one I won't be getting, so that is 3 fewer "Giant Floating Heads" in my collection.

I think it's better, at least the battle scene at the bottom adds a little drama to the picture. It's still pretty bad though.

I didn't think it was possible to make the heads any bigger.

Hello custom cover art!

I believe he was supposed to have a glass eye in the movie.

Er.......I don't know it it's better. Those heads don't do much. THe flag is more apparent, but it's a bit too much. I guess it's acceptable.

Why don't they just come out with a fold-out cover so they can make the heads even bigger?

I feel claustrophobic looking at that cover...

You thought the heads were big before... well THINK AGAIN! ABOUT HEAD-SIZE!

GANGS OF NEW YORK LIMITED TRICKED-OUT BIG-AS-LIFE-AND-TWICE-AS-UGLY EDITION!!!!!!!!!

Set to street two weeks after the standard version (they're not ripping you off because they're telling you in advance!), special features will include a foldout digipak with MORE CRITIC BLURBS THAN EVER WITNESSED BEFORE ON DVD, a 4'X6' foldout poster of LEONARDO DiCAPRIO!...'s head, and an eight-hour long doc entitled YEARS OF STRUGGLE - THE FEAT OF LEO GROWING A GOATEE. Also included on discs 4-8 will be the version of the film, UNSEEN BY THE PUBLIC, that the academy saw and actually thought worthy of tons of awards!

Order now and you'll get a FREE money-bag keychain! It's an exact scale replica of the big bags of money dangled in front of Brendan Gleeson and John C. Reilly to make them accept such thankless roles!

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! This LIMITED EDITION of only the first 5,000,000 copies (it's got no number of authenticity, but we did put a number on the spine, so you GOTTA have it!) comes with the names and addresses of EVERY academy member so YOU TOO can send bribes to buy yourself some Oscars!

.......................................................................................

I jest, I jest.

I like the color in the new one, but I liked the general look of the original one. Either way, those heads look like something out of MTV's Oddities. Oh, well...may be a blind buy for me unless I catch it a cheap-o theater and don't like it...

"Coochie coochie coo...baby's sooooo cute!"

-OR-

"We got yer pepperoni and extra cheese down here...buzz us in already."

Changed perhaps because of the tattered flag.... No doubt.

I was down with the tattered flag.
Why are two of the best films in recent years--Gangs of New York and The Pianist--given the most awful cover jobs?

Anyone know what other regions covers look like?

Why? The tattered flag was on the original poster, and there was no problem then.

True... the cover for "City Of God" had better not suck.
