X-Men: Legend of Wolverine

Did anybody buy this title yet? I was thinking about getting it since it's only $12.99 at Circuit City, but don't exactly know what's on it or if it's any good. I like X-men but I am not familiar with what animated series this DVD comes from. Can anybody elighten me as to what's on the DVD if they own it and let me know what you thought of it? Thanks.

I don't own the DVD, but the animated series it comes from is the 90's X-Men cartoon. It was a well done show, but I'll only buy it if they release seasons.

I understand most fans would like season sets, but they're missing out on some cool features. The "Wolverine" disc in particular has lengthy interviews with Chris Claremont and Stan Lee along with running commentary on each episode by Claremont.

There are 4 episodes that tie-in with the upcoming X2 quite well, featuring characters like Deathstrike and Nightcrawler. Plus a bonus 5th episode that deals with Magneto and the Sentinels. All in all, I found it to be a very good deal. I'll post a full review sometime this weekend.

I bought this dvd today.

Presentation seems good, though I'm not the person to ask.

The episodes are a mixed bag. Animation is a bit dated as I feared. But what I remember being attracted to about the show were the stories, not the animation. Story-wise, the regular four episodes are okay, not as good as I expected but not too bad, although "Nightcrawler" is a real misfire. It's one of those very self-aware episodes that only a 12-year-old could watch without cringing.

However, the bonus episode "The Final Decision" is excellent. It has the kind of epic scale and maturity that distinguished this cartoon from the rest. If not for this episode, I probably would've given up on this show.

Looking at just the quality of the episodes, I can't really recommend this disc. I don't own any other dvd, but I would imagine "Dark Pheonix" is much better. But I have yet to check out the other bonuses.
