Does anybody know if Anchor Bay is going to make a better version of this? The current version is full-frame, has zero extras and the picture quality is about the same as the VHS. About the only advantage over the VHS is chapter selection. Any info (good or bad) would be appreciated.

AB has said that they did all that they could with the elements that Disney was willing to provide. There have been rumors over the years that Disney was notoriously difficult when licensing out films to AB, and this would appear to be a symptom of that. We can only hope that Disney has a change of policy or heart that will lead to a proper re-release at some point.

Same here, and I can't believe they've never remade it. Not that you could ever recapture that charm or the performances of Steven Furst, Melilio, or the tall guy on the blue team. Or the Green team and Leon for that matter.
God I hope I didn't give that Disney scum an idea!

I watched film incessantly from a tape made from HBO. I still love the film immensely, and would kill for a nice DVD with some extras. Our mutual love for this film was one of the things that my girlfriend and I had in common when we met, and it made me fall in love immediately.
