Actually, you pedants, none of the threads seem to address this.

The final specs of the disc hasn't even been finalized yet. So far all we know is that there will be an extra musical number, at least one featurette/making-of/behind the scenes type thing, and an audio commentary.

As of now the release is only a single disc.

The search button is only your friend if it returns information. Otherwise, it's your bitter enemy!

Actually..we know nothing beyond "Class" and that's it.

There is no confirmed commentary or anything else. No one knows anything about a featurette either.

And yes...what we know was addressed if you did a search.

digitalfreaknyc,

The featurette, commentary, and additional song are listed in the advertisement in Video Store trade magazines, like Video Store Magazine and Video Business [edit - see my post below for pictures].

So we know that there *will* be a director's commentary. I don't think anyone else posted about that ad yet, so you heard it here first.

Just for the record, though, the rest of the features have not yet been finalized, AFAIK.

Jough...check again.

AS I SAID, there is NO word on a commentary.

From DVDfile today:
Also just in are more specs for last year's Best Picture Oscar winner, Chicago. Due on August 19th, this one will include a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer, English 5.1 Dolby surround track, a behind-the-scenes featurette, much-vaulted deleted scenes featuring an extra song, and trailers. Retail is $29.95.

THERE IS NO WORD ON A COMMENTARY!!! No one has discussed it and there have been no such ads. Sheesh!

And if there have, prove it.

digitalfreaknyc:

Dude, please read my post before you reply to it, okay?

As I stated above, there is an ad in this week's Video Business magazine. I have SEEN it. I posted about it above. You can read all about it.

The ad says "Audio Commentary with director Rob Marshall"

When I get home I'll see if I can take a picture of it and post it up here.

Or you can check your local video store. They probably received it.

I know a bunch of other people on here subscribe to VB, so I'm sure they can verify it. IIRC, the ad's on the inside front cover.

Jough...

I completely admit being in the wrong about this.

In my defense, I haven't seen this posted anywhere else...on any websites or forums, HTF or otherwise. So methinks you are the first.

Thanks for the info! I admit defeat on this one.

I haven't seen this anywhere else either, and it's not in the official press release the studio sent to media agents (like DVD File, for instance).

But Artisan released the details about T2: EE (the HD version, the commentary, etc.) in VB about a month before the details started showing up elsewhere.

The only reason I can think this would be so, is that the press office and the trade magazine advertising office work independently of each other and I guess they don't talk at the water cooler.

"Oh, you mean we *are* telling them about the commentary already?"

There was also a very short blurb in Variety after Chicago won the Oscar about the director recording a commentary track for it. He seems like a real fame whore, so I'd be surprised if he *didn't* record a commentary.

I usually don't post about these things, not only because I'm lazy, but because I figure someone else would beat me to it (they usually do) and I'd hate to ride someone else's scene, you know?

Thanks, man. But I mean, where's the trust? Where's the love?

Dang. I try to hook people up with a little news and they just kick me in the shins and call me names and try to steal my lollypop.

I work and I slave to provide people with upcoming DVD info and what thanks do I get?

Thanks, jough! I was hoping for a 2-disc set, and maybe we'll get one eventually, but for now, the commentary is great news! I am SO looking forward to this disc.

Seeing it 5 times in the theater was enough I guess

digitalfreaknyc, I have the screener, too, but I'm looking forward to the extra song and now the commentary on the eventual real release.

Obviously if you can't find it on the internet it can't be true.
