Will Irreversible get Special Edition US release?

I searched for the DVD in amazon.fr and found that they have a Special edition that's unrated includes 2 previous films (?) from the same director (?)

However, that SE doesn't have English subtitle and it's PAL. You can see people selling it on eBay for >$50 and they claim that it will never see a US release.

Can anyone confirm?

I'm sure it will get a DVD release in the US - Lion's Gate released the film and they've put out plenty of other controversial fare on film and DVD.

Whether it will be a special edition, I doubt it. Lion's Gate doesn't really put a lot of work into their DVD releases.

I believe the director has stated that it is being released uncut in the US by Lion's Gate, but nothing's been said about the special features.

The inclusion of two shorts films is entirely possible, though. Lion's Gate is also releasing Intacto, and according to the promo DVD I have, it's going to include commentary and some earlier short films. So they are getting better with special features...

I predict we will see unrated and rated versions, with audio commentaries on both.

Sounds like an interesting film...

I'm sure the dvd will be uncut as well. Afterall it was released that way in theaters. Yet to try to get it into some 'conservative' stores like you know whos. They will probably release a R version as well..which i'm sure will be pointless to see with the two most controversial scenes & more heavily cut.
