Well considering Phone booth was suppose to be in theaters some time ago but was bumped because of that sniper running around shooting gas stations I could see how they had plenty of time to prepare for a home video release. Hell, I'm sure they had production going and in theory, it might aswell have been ready if originally released when it was suppose to in theaters, should have been on home video when it was released in theaters.

If you watch it, it would be too hard since they had all of those split screen shots.

I bet they rework the split-screens and frames-within-frames for the pan & scan transfer.

I would have preferred separate widescreen/pan and scan versions with the additional disc layer for some extras instead of another transfer, but oh well.
Maybe, though, the point of having them both on there is to educate the public on widescreen?

I love these fast turn arounds!! I loved Phone Booth and can't wait to get this disc ... I just wish Fox would bump up that Daredevil release date (seeing as the disc is done and ready to go!) but looks like there will be enough Colin Farrell action on dvd in July to keep most fans happy!

I'm definately buying this one. I just hope this isn't the beginning of a trend and more DVDs end up this way. I had read an article a while back about how the studios would like to include both wide and full screen transfers in one DVD release to save SKUs or whatever.

Unless you're making a joke, in which case I apologize for nitpicking. Still not very funny, though.

Worst.
Cover.
Ever.
Glad to see it's coming out soon, though. Good film, and perfectly re-watchable. A commentary track is most welcome.
I'm just surprised they didn't include more features, considering the film was so short.
The documentary on the Taxi Driver DVD is longer than Phonebooth!

I wish they had used the English poster style for the coverart.
But no.
"Welcome, Colin! We can finally sell a film by putting your head on the cover! Welcome, Welcome to the Big Head Club! You shall now meet our exalted number one, the Right Side Of Tom Cruise's Face!"
And - come on. Screw the pan-and-scan option, GIVE ME FULL BITRATE DTS. It'll happen somewhere in the world - and I'll be on it like a bonnet.

Most press releases list this as "Phone Booth: SE" - what's so special about this release? Its only special feature is a commentary.
Now, I love commentaries, and am happy that this disc will include one - but there are "standard editions" that have more special features.
And for there to be a "special edition" doesn't there have to be an ordinary edition first?
