One and Only Lord of the Rings: Two Towers on DVD Thread
Someone suggested this in one of the other five active threads about the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers DVDs coming out.
So vote for which version you'll buy. |
As before, the theatrical and regular extended version. No need to for fancy book marks or playing cards.
:D |
Theatrical only, to match my theatrical-only of FOTR
As with FOTR, I will be buying both the theatrical and the gift set. Here's hoping the Two Towers EE gift is as cool as the Argonath statues/bookends were. I'm hoping for something like a Gollum statuette or (as suggested on another forum) a swirly palantír "snowglobe".
Theatrical & Extended for sure. Can't wait.
I don't like the film enough to buy both versions even though I hate buying an inferior DVD (and technically, both of these DVD releases will be inferior, since each is missing what the other has). So, either Theatrical or Overkill/Extended. Tradeoff is No Theatrical Cut vs. Lame Extras.
Got to own both. For the extras and the different versions of the film represented. It's Lord of the Rings, so I don't skimp. :)
Someone should start a thread asking which LOTR: TTT thread we will post in...
I said both the Theatrical and EE, but I'm assuming there will be another $5 MIR for purchasing both, and that I'll be able to get the theatrical version as a fulfillment from CH for less than $22 (should average out to less than $10 for the whole lot of enrollments and fulfillments).
I bought the dvd screener one :P well since i got that, i dont need the retail.
Oh yes you do aaryn. I have that screener and as many times that I have seen it, It doesn't have any extra's so I will be spending my cash on the big one when it comes out. :)
As before, both the Theatrical and Extended Editions.
Theatrical and EE, same as FOTR and ROTK. Don't need the junk, so no gift set. I should probably make a special section on a shelf eventually for all 18 DVDs and 4 books. Maybe 19 DVDs if I ever pick up the NG disc.
OOPS!! Maybe I should just use my calculator to add this up. -ohbfrank- |
Same as last year.. get the theatrical for "free" by either test driving a Kia or trading in 2 DVDs at EB, and then buy the EE.
I'm going to be patient this time. I bought both the FOTRs - this time I'll probably wait for the 4discs.
EE only.
I got LOTR for free last year with the test drive deal and then bought the EE. Ths time I think I will buy them both depends on price I am sure it will be cheap like around $15 like last time.

Just the Extended Edition for me.
I have the screener too. I hope they make a new transfer for the theatrical version because the bitrate and digital artifacts on the screener is terrible.
Although, I thought that the theatrical version of FOTR was horribly pixelated, too. It's really distracting to see lots of grey blocks in what should be a solid black colour. The Extended Edition was a MUCH better transfer. Also, noticed that the FOTR theatrical version was also much brighter and washed out overall. It looks like they re-did the colour timing for the EE. I hope they put as much care in the TTT transfer. -- Jough |
I'll probably just pick up the EE, although the theatrical version is somewhat attractive (Sean Astin's short film seems interesting) this time around.
I will end up getting both the theatrical and gift set. I know it. I'm weak.
I didn't think I'd buy both for FOTR, but I just couldn't help myself. Now I'm really glad I have both, because sometimes I feel like Theatrical, sometimes I feel like Extended.
I'm sure I'll do the same for TTT. |
I am definitely getting both the theatrical and extended versions, as I did with FOTR. I like to own the theatrical version, the way the director wanted it, and I like to own the extended special edition. Also the fact that they have different extras is just another reason to buy both.
Just the 4 disk EE. With FOTR I could never watch the theatrical cut again after seeing the EE.
I actually had both DVDs for it as someone bought the theatrical version for me out of the blue, but after seeing the EE I gave the 2-disc version to a friend. |
